The strange plant is a random event. If you don't pick it, it will attack and poison you. If you do pick it, you will get the strange fruit, and the plant will whither away. When eaten, the fruit restores a small bit of energy, and can also cure poison. It doesn't restore hp.

The strange fruit restores 30% of your energy - so the same as a 3 dose Energy potion. Usefull in quests like Monkey Madness, where a lot of running is involved.
