Pest Control Tips for Lower Level Players

Everyday I hear lower level and higher level people complain about pest control. The lower level people would like to win a whole lot more often, which no one can blame them. The higher level people do not want the lower level players with them so that they keep winning often and fast.

 

 

 

Here is some helpful advise for the lower level players from someone who plays the game alot.

 

 

 

1. You are going to be picked on alot playing. Be thick skinned and ignore the higher level players.

 

 

 

2. There is only 1 goal in the game. Destroy the portals. If you are not actually protecting the Void Knight, you are attacking the portals and any spinners that you see. Spinners will heal the portal and if that happens, you will not win.

 

 

 

3. Obviously we all must have at least 50 hps damage done, so here is a good tip. Attack the portal and or spinners first. Always watch the damage being done on the all the portals and if you are not getting enough damage, then attack something else! It certainly makes more sense to ensure you hit 50 damage than keep on a portal and end up with a "lack of zeal". (Meaning no points) Remember, always get 50 points at least. Spinners are perfect to attack as they hit low and get hit easily.

 

 

 

4. If you stand around talking... begging.... asking for someone's pic... you are not going to have many friends at Pest Control. Your goal should be the same as everyone else.... destroy 4 portals.

 

 

 

5. Always remember to wear armor to Pest Control if you are lower level. When you die, you lose nothing and it will help you last longer. Food is your choice, but I have never seen a use for it myself.

 

 

 

6. Some people say specials cause spinners to be created so do not use them on portals. These people are wrong so ignore them. Someday they will read the information about this that Jagex put in their forums. Always use specials if you have them. (Whip is kinda useless...)

 

 

 

7. Fire spells work very well at Pest Control. Range works ok for higher range levels, but is bad for lower.

 

 

 

8. If you are with alot of higher level players, closing the gates behind you isn't overly important as the portals will be destroyed fast. With that said, a group of lower level players must close gates because it gives you more time to destroy the portals. If you forget, you have a good chance of losing every round.

 

 

 

9. Finally... if you are running with alot of higher level players, do not expect you will have alot of time to get 50 hps damage done. You might be better off protecting the Void Knight. Remember, the higher level players are all looking at their own 50 hps of damage they must do first, and then to knock the portals all out. You can win every game and not get points still. That would make the win feel like you lost, so get 50 hps of damage done every time.

my advice is dont pc until you can handle your own in there with the high lvls

lol a good way to get 50 damage on portols straight up everytime for me (tho i wouldnt refer to my self as low level) but itd still be good for lower levels is to bring a DD++ and use all your special straight up on the portal.

 

 

 

Gets me 50 everytime without chasing random monsters.
