Will the Release of Summoning Drop an Old p2p Skill Down?
mr_tiddles replied to warshadow212's topic in General Discussion
There is always a possibility of a skill being moved or partially put into free. Jagex has done it before and they can do it again. BTW, 99 Atk/Str/Def/Mag/Range/HP = 126 cmb - Yeah this is true if you have 98+ prayer. Otherwise, you would definitely NOT have 126. I have 126 combat and certainly do not have 99 range. (Thank goodness) That will give me something simple to work on when I want to max out my skills. :) -
How many people have maxed out? Heres your answer!

Still under 800 have 99 mining huh? Bunch of slackers! -
Why couldn't they do this sooner?! I wouldn't have to dish out xmas presents! (just kidding) I think Jagex has lost touch with reality on this one. If you lose control of macroers, you write better code which prevents them from being used with your program. If you are unable to do that, you fire the incapable programmers and hire the ones who actually have the degree and motivation to get it done. As far as gold farmers are concerned... this issue is far more complex. Just because someone cannot speak english doesn't mean they are a gold farmer. Perhaps limiting the experience people could get in a certain amount of time and preventing them from working on the skill any longer would have helped. Then running reports to locate accounts which have many one sided trades would help remove those issues. (As a tech company, I'm certain Jagex has reporting functions available... if not, fire more people) As far as the wilderness is concerned, Jagex messed with it when going from RSC to RS2, and this is the natural progression to basically eliminate it from the game. I certainly could care less about the wild anymore, but those clans and individuals who pked will. Andrew certainly isn't in charge any longer.

In melee I destory everyone. Im 116 combat with 99 Pray. I use my armadyl GS and Full Dragon with D Full Helm and I usually 2 hit everyone and anyone. I have 2 hit many 124+ 70-29 with AGS. What if the level 124+ have the same weapons? It's easy to win until you are in the wild :)

Musashi22 was 2nd to 99 smith, Arris was 3rd. I knew a bunch of those legends and a bunch of them were banned for various reasons over the years. I still consider Pirahna a legend as he certainly was the dominating 99 miner back in classic, much like Pete 5 was also the top woodcut until she went to college and grew up (I hope I never do, haha). Two last people... 3 Hit U and I Mahatma I certainly took pking to a new level in classic. I would add them as legends also. I'm still ticked because Zar Family 2 used to beat me silly when I mined rune way way back in the day. At least he always said "hi" as he did it :)

Lets face it, while some of this is probably true, Jagex certainly wasn't lying about gp farming happening also. I believe that if you really think you are tough enough, stop staking and take your party hats out to the wilderness! I would love to pound you for a few... (Don't forget your gps also, I need more of them too)

While some things went down a little in price... like santas are around 20,800,000 for the mid price... logs actually went up in price. This will be interesting to see if they place some limitations on trading to ensure their prices are maintained?

Tip.it Times Presents: Remembering the Good ol' Days.

You stopped playing back in the stone ages... right? Then why would you care what Jagex has done to the game? The old game had its share of bots and people who sold accounts and items also. Simply put it into some perspective... there were probably close to 20,000 players at the start of 2002. (if that many) Now there are over 9,000,000(Including free and members... granted the 20 k was before members came out). Had Jagex decided to continue to hold onto their old programming styles, do you seriously think there would be even remotely close to that many players now? Not a chance. Jagex has evolved a lot, some of it good and some of it not quite as desired. I think they have done a remarkable job considering the game was and still is a Java based game. =D> -

Rome = Runescape Interesting concept. I think the only constant over the years has been that people are the same now as they were then. Whether complaining about holiday drops, or begging, there has been little change as far as the players themselves are concerned. (And of course the great friendships that are made) On the other hand, the game has changed considerably. It HAD too. Once Jagex introduced "members" to the world, they had to constantly update the game or it would fail. (As does every game in the world that is successful) While some of can remember some good times in the old version, all in all, the game has improved considerably. I can certainly remember some good times in the new version of the game as well. When all is said and done, if you stop remembering this is only a game... when you worry more about working skills like they are a real life task... when you do not stop and help others because you HAVE to go farm some herbs... you need to reevaluate your life. It's the people (whether new or old) who add the extra twist into the game. We make the game's overall flavor.
