September 11, 200619 yr So I was looking for another mmorpg to maybe start playing so I find a site for review on free mmorpgs, and see a review for runescape and I click on it and i see this... Ever since RuneScape debuted in 1998, it's been considered a smash hit. Claiming many awards and reaping sizable sums of money, the internet's largest MMORPG (yes, the largest; you'll be hard pressed to find a game with over 10 million individual players) definitely has built itself a name around the globe; but is it what everybody hypes it up to be? Yeah, I really don't think runescape came along when I was 8 becasue that was a while ago, (im almost 16) So what is that kid talking about?
September 11, 200619 yr Yes its no more then 6 years old i believe? 5 i thought. "Boredom got me playing, Boredom stops me from playing. It's a vicious cycle."

September 11, 200619 yr Well, runescape 2 (the one we play) isn't all that old really. At most it's three years old, if even that. I know for a fact RSC didn't run for those other 5 years. So, looks like that article is off.
September 11, 200619 yr RuneScape's first version began as a one-man project. Andrew Gower started working on the original game in 1998. This version, never released to the public, was very different from the RuneScape of today. It had isometric graphics, and was originally titled 'DeviousMUD'. In 1999, Gower began to rewrite the game. Despite being completely rewritten, the second version was very similar to the first with the same graphics. This version was released as a public beta for approximately one week before it was withdrawn. RuneScape was released in January 2001, and RuneScape 2 came April or May 2004 EDIT: No it's March 2004
