bloodkilla87
Take this for example E--------------------------------|-------------------------------| B--------------------------------|-------------------------------| G----4-----4-----4---4-----4-----|---4-----4-----4---4-----4-----| D----4-----4-----4---4-----4-----|---4-----4-----4---4-----4-----| A--2---2-------2-------2-------2-|-2---2-------2-------2-------2-| E--------------------------------|-------------------------------| Would i play a - 2nd fret, then g and f - 4th fret. Or Would i go a 2 2nd fret, then g - 4 then d - 4. Im trying to teach myself how to play a little guitar :boohoo:
assassin_696
The first one, you'd play second fret A then fourth fret D and G together. And the way I would do it is to play the A with my thumb and use my index and middle to play the other two. dread_rasta
Just visualize the tabs as the fretboard of your guitar. The line on top of the tab is the string with the highest sound. The line on the bottom is therefor the string closest to you. And then the numbers are the frets you are supposed to play. That's tab reading in a nutshell. Not too difficult, eh?
