I think that's part of the reason they made the d ax chop faster so that when they release the pick it will have a better reception than the ax did. People complained about how the ax didn't chop any better than the rune ax for a long time. Jagex is probably planning for a less troublesome dpick release. As for the plate I wouldn't get your hopes up anytime soon for that. They might release it one day but I wouldn't worry about that too much if you're going to buy a chain.
