Caligo
I've never been a successful pker. ever. Every time I venture into the wildy for reasons outside of training/quest, I die. When pures first became popular on RSC I started making one and never finished because I was too preoccupied trying to lvl my main. When rs2 first came out there was a period when pures were no longer wanted, but I'm seeing more and more pures in the wildy these days, which makes me wonder... Right now my one and only character has horrible stats, even more so that he's not a pure, so I wouldn't even consider pking with him (he's currently 60 atk, 60 str, 52 def, 43 range, 55 magic, 47 prayer) But I might consider trying pking with him once I get his stats higher, or maybe even consider starting another pure. The problem with starting another character is that if I wanted to take him over to p2p I'd have to shell out another 5 bux a month and I'm cheap. real cheap. (chicks dig me  ) I really like trying all aspects of every game, and pking is just one that I've dabbled in with little success and would like to give another go...Now if I could only get past that whole money issue. (Not only am I cheap, but my character's broke, which equals no money to pk. From what I understand pking is an expensive hobby) So I guess what it all boils down to...could X Caligo X (main) ever have a chance at a successful pking career? and if so can you give me any pointers? Should I start a f2per pure? X Caligo X(I know, X's are stupid. I'd take them out if I could)
Allmonkey
Well if you raise your main right it could turn out as a good staker (not quite the same as pker but still it's pvp). Toy around with the combat calc and see how high you can get your range and mage (as the two stats tend to rule the p2p pking system). It is possible to turn into a good pker. alcoolj
If you're cheap - begin again - train mage to 45+ and have some fun. Runes aren't that expensive, and you should be able to sustain your pking habit through that. Pking ith your main is going to be very expensive (losing full rune often), and with your stats - not very successfull unless you are in a large group. Pking ith your main is going to be very expensive (losing full rune often), and with your stats - not very successfull unless you are in a large group. The only way your main will be a pker is going to do high level pking, which albeit is rewarding, but also will costs you tons if you die. Like full rune as stated by the guy above, dlong/whip. What I would suggest is starting a range and magic pure. The range is very cheap to raise in that you can fight low level monsters like minotaurs from level 1-40 and they drop tons of iron arrows. I got 17k iron arrows just from killing them from 1-40, and there is a fence there as a safespot so you don't get hit. Range pking is simple, hit them from far away, keep hitting and eating when neccesary and when they're about 1/4 down spec them, ect. until it's over. The great thing about a range pker is you can use the same character in the duel arena which I find better than wildy for two reasons. First, you don't lose all your stuff when you die, just whatever you've staked. Having the option to stake however much you want makes it good whether your low on cash or not. If you have 10k you can bet that and work your way up. If you have 1 mil you can spend it all in one swoop and in effect double your money. The hardest part about duel arena though is knowing when to quit. Knowing how to quit ahead, and knowing when to quit when your down. People will cuss you out and do anything to get you hotheated so you stake again, which will usualy lead to you staking unbeliavable amounts of money, mistakes in fighting, or not paying attention when they switch one of the rules. Check out my blog to see an example of a range pure that makes about 100k a day from Range Staking at the duel arena for about 30 minutes to an hour. Dragon_Scyth
ONce your in the lvl 90's (combat) and 100's you can go deep wildy pking which is fun. it doesnt really matter about pures out there. and yeah u only lose a set of rune and a rune scimmy (f2p) or a drag scimmy + dagger (p2p) which isnt very much =) "Boredom got me playing, Boredom stops me from playing. It's a vicious cycle."
