i know i can buy (if someone has sold them) in the tai bo wanna, but is there another place? to buy or otherwise obtain

The only places I know where to get them is either in the Tai Bwo Wannai store as you said, or get them during the clean-up minigame when you've hacked away a jungle patch. Be sure NOT to eat it!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I think they are quite rare and I have never seen anyone selling one. I'm not sure what you would want with them, they are not great for farmers and when you trade the goutweed at Sanfew, you'll get random herbs. I always have bad luck in ANY random thing....
