Depends what you want it for... I'm pretty sure obsidian stuff is stronger than dragon, granite is weaker overall but has a high ranged defence bonus.

No Dragon is stronger. If you mean the sheild then its actually worse off in defence than a rune kitesheild. But it has a strength bonus so thats why many prefer to use it.
