n518978914
I'm looking for help in creating a "No Nature Runes for Pk'ers of Abyss Users List but" I'm unsure a valid method that doesn't go against forum rules. I rc runes using the abyss - and repair pouches through abyss of course - and I've been pk'd for what seems like the billionth time. It's well within pk'ers rights to pk but attacking abyss users is just base level stupidity because abyss users who are pk'd one too many times will rc fewer runes to sell. Anywho, after tonight's death I ranted about a "No Nats List" to the person who pk'd me & I'd love to create a safehaven in support of all abyss users by listing players who pk abysss users in order to punish them by not selling them the runes they probably buy (what abyss user would pk other abyss users?). Sounds like a great idea to me but also sounds like it might go against most forum policies. Help! My idea is to list a date, world, pk'er name and time (time zone included) an abyss user was pk'd/pk attacked on a forum page. And if not allowed then to email me and I'll just send out the list via email/tipit mail to abyss users interested in joining the "No Nats for Pk'ers of Abyss Users Club". Any ideas, help or comments are desperately needed!!!! Thank you! Happy RS-ing!
Esh
I think it's a pretty poor idea at this point (very lacking in thought and very reactionary). You make the basic assumption that a PKer is interested in buying Nats. Just how many Abyss PKers do you see standing around alching stuff until you come along? I don't no personally as I don't mess with the Abyss but the one or two times I went in there I didn't see any. OK so let's assume that there is one and you got his name then what, you have to have a large majority of the RCers willing not to make a profit from a potential buyer which still doesn't stop someone from coming along and playing middle man (you could always say they're then paying a PK tax but now your getting into a lot of second and third level effects which some you might not find very pleasent say like the PKer actually targeting you now for spite). So lets go in another direction, lets say you got your list and you got about 200 names on it (I'm giving you the benifit of the doubt that once you get your list you will only have 200 names and not 2000). Now each time you conduct a trade your going to spend a minute looking over the list to make sure that this one person is not on the list. You'll probably end up losing the sell for taking to long. Then on top of which you have to contend with the fact that it totally legitimate for players to kill other players in this area. Let us also not forget that the Abyss is only one way to run Nats. You are not required to go though the abyss to do them. You accept the risk of going into the wild each time with the hope of making money faster than the safer but slower paths. If you wish not to get PKed then don't go there. Sell noted ess to the store, or use the bank at Shilo. I don't know what Jagex would do but if I was in there shoes and caught wind of a group trying to circumvent my rules I would throw out some ban. I'm not saying that this would happen but keep it in mine. You might want to check with Jagex to see what there position is. I would add that Tip.it does have a no name telling policy here so forget about a list being associated with them. With all that said, don't take this as a flame, take it as constructive criticism. Figure out the answers is to the points I made so that if you can/do go forward with this you get something workable.
n518978914
Meh, thanks for the response. I had a feeling after not getting a reply on my note for quite a while the No Nats etc List wasn't going to happen & was wishful thinking on my part. Hey if you wore a "pk me" sign on your back even if visitng the abyss for pouch repair you'd tender a reactionary thought too. No matter what I don't wear I'm attacked at abyss and pretty much sick of it. I used abyss only for pouch repair by the way so of course your comment about alternate methods of runecrafting didn't apply in my case. Oh well. That's RS life and I'm dealing as usual.
