Emo Bashing - Suggestion

This mostly pertains to Off Topic and Music & Movies. Basically, whenever someone says 'emo' there's suddenly an uprising and it turns into everyone vs me (the only guy who's willing to defend emos). Basically, I think there should be a rule against emo bashing since it's results in topics getting locked. Also, a rule against antagonizing to emo haters.

If there were a specific rule against comments disparaging towards "emos" then guess what? The topics will get locked.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

My interpretation of the rules: any comments that attack or degrade any group, whether they be identified by sexual preference, race, gender, emotional alignment, socio-economic standing, or any other measure, are not allowed.

1.5 - Flaming, Violence, Harassment & Pointless Vulgarity

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mild, intelligent flaming is allowable. However, pointless harassment aimed at a specific individual or group of people is unacceptable. It is not our intention to limit the poster's option to use occasional curse words to demonstrate a point. However pointless, excessive, or obscene cursing will be edited or deleted. There is a chat filter in operation, which will disguise certain inappropriate words. Forum infractions may result in immediate actions being taken that can range from written warnings, temporary suspension or permanent suspension from this site, depending on the severity and frequency of the offense. User names (and profile information) may not be offensive, vulgar, profane, or abusive.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Intentionally posting false arguments, intentionally misquoting other users, flames or personal attacks for no other purpose than to incite a negative reaction, annoy others or disrupt a discussion is also prohibited. I think this might have been partially covered in the rules, but maybe it isn't clear enough. And if we're both thinking about that Rap vs. Rock thread, well... that's where the second part of 1.5 comes into play.
