I would say orange sallys over chomps.

 

 

 

More xp per catch 224 vs 198.5

 

 

 

Also I think sallys are faster as you have to smoke box traps to get better catches.

 

 

 

Only bad thing is getting good spots might be hard to find and chompas are stackable.
