December 3, 200619 yr By neoclassical, i mean along the lines of trans-siberian-orcestra's use of electric guitars I love the style and I can't find anything. Also, good progressive metal bands similar to Blind Guardian and Kamelot would be appreciated.
December 4, 200619 yr Hmm... Dream Theater is a great prog metal band, to start it off with. You might want to check Therion as well. Amazing Symphonic metal.
December 4, 200619 yr Author Yeah, I used to lestin to a lot of dream theatre :] but Kamelot caught my eye (or should I say ear) with softer less harsh vocals
December 4, 200619 yr Necrophagist (meaning someone who practices the eating of corpses) is a technical death metal band from Germany. The band is noted for its neo-classical guitar technique.

December 4, 200619 yr Neoclassical is written all over Necrophagist. Try "Fermented Offal Discharge" on the "Onset of Putrefacation" disc. The over one minute and thirty second solo is a great piece of neoclassical work. Anyways, if you like more 'no-vocals' or 'power-metal vocals' try Yngwie Malmsteen. He's a great neoclassical guitarist. Mostly instrumentals.
December 4, 200619 yr Author I already have a entire library of Yngwie Malmsteen's work =] The man is guitar greatness BTW Nadril - I looked up Therion, and I am a little bit interested, but youtube only has limited videos, so if you could suggest a few songs?

Pretty much anything from the Sirus B or Lemura albums, hehe. The wonderous world of punt is one of my favorites though.
