100% my own work, i make my own brushes: set 1 set 2

It's not a photo manip if it's not a photo. :P

Can't access the original, it re-directs to the main page but i'll give what I can based on what I think it is.

  • [*:spkjuzrt]It's just an image.

Nothing is really your work. Probably just a de-sat with a border. (As stated above, can't see original.)

    [*:spkjuzrt]Border.

If you have a cinematic border, make it 100% opacity but not as thick as that.

    [*:spkjuzrt]Text.

Good placement, font is fine. But why a motion blur? Looks random and unecessary.

Again, cannot see the original. But it doesn't look like you've done a whole lot.

Oh, and a full quality is no way near the same as a PNG. A PNG file holds every single pixel (~90%) with little to no compression. JPEG will compress no matter what it's quality.

This is why PNGs are a bigger file for abstracts but a smaller file for pixels.

image manip then =P

i rehosted the image on imageshack as oposed to the site link, try now =)

with image manips there isnt generaly anot you can do as far as brushing goes, at least i cant since paint.net has no special brushes/filters

o added contrast, de sat'd, sepiad, changed to a blue hue, added gradient, added boarder and text

as for the boarder i felt it was too strong at 100% hence the lower opacity, alough ill try with a thinner boarder.

as for the text i felt it looked rather boring as it was so i tried to ad more life, would lowering the opacity of that help? make it more suttle, while still having an effect?

as for the png thing, i cant try saving as png, but then again there isnt alot of point since the original wasnt full quality anyway...

meh if you want the png let me know and ill do it

Actually that's all I expect you to have done. Myself I would've done something more along these lines;

im sure that would make so much more sence if i had photoshop. however some of the parts are transferable.

yours looks better than mine and im trying to see what you did different and why it looks better. i recon its the use of colour mainly. however the thinner boarders help as does the text with simple gausion blur. but theres several other differences which i think help.

i may try having another go at it with some of the sugestions that you gave as guidence =) thanks
