Hey, I was doing plague city and i got to the part where you are suppose to talk to elena and she tells you the key is in the house or w/e and its suppose to be in the barrel, Well ive tried opening the door and she will not talk to me, and the key is not in the barrel, can someone tell me what i Have done wrong or what i need to do to fix this. havent done this quest in a while but check out the quest guide on this site O:)

anyone else have an idea of what might be wrong? i have read guide several times and did excatly what it says but the key will not appear in the barrel and elena will not talk to me about it either.. any suggestions i would really appreciate/
