Introduction

 

 

 

Merchanting is easy! All you need is a little brain power and a calculator =)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Why raw materials?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Well are the most bought items and supply for them is pretty good. With merchanting santa's for instance prices change suddenly so you can get very lucky or very unlucky, also the profit margin is tiny and you may not even get a buyer too often

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What you should do before you merchant:

 

 

 

-Make enough money for 10m or so. The more the better.

 

 

 

-Check the buying prices on the forums - These change, not often but they do change so it's worth doing it)

 

 

 

-Have something to do weather it is alching/fletching/tanning whatever have something to do else you'll bore yourself silly.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

What to buy(Where, What, How, When)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yews - These are my favourite as you can get 100k of them in under 5 minutes and the profit per yew is 10 - 20gp each.

 

 

 

Where: Varrock World 1 Varrock west by the guards

 

 

 

When: All day but you may have to wait to 5pm gmt to sell

 

 

 

How: Simple go to the guards by the entrance to varrock and type "Buying yew logs - 280 each - [name]"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pure essence - These used to be my favourite way. Too many people do these now so it's hard to merchant them efficently but if you get permament sellers it can be very good =)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Where: Varrock east - emptyish world so your traders can get to you.

 

 

 

When: Most of the day - Demand is always high.

 

 

 

How: Make a thread on the forums in capitals saying "buying pure ess [price each]" Make sure to bump your thread every minute or so as the runes forum is maybe the fastest moving one. :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ores:

 

 

 

These are extremely good as most of ftp mines for money

 

 

 

Where: Ftp worlds

 

 

 

Falador east/south bank

 

 

 

When: Anytime

 

 

 

How: Type in your favoured message and buy! buy! buy!

 

 

 

Sell on the forums and pick up any trades you see while buying. :)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The list goes on - Be imaginative, There are tons of things you could merchant.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Notes

 

 

 

Be FIRM with your prices - If people see you selling for less to other people and they will want the item for less.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

This guide drifts into items such as yew longs as they still get bought as they need to be alched =)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Mix it with skills. You can make at least 1m an hour merchanting. Add runecrafting or fletching and you add another 300k an hour into it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Buy any ammounts: I have always wondered why people don't buy at uneven numbers or low ammounts. I find it immensely stupid. As the Asda advert says "Every little helps"

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Be nice to your sellers and buyers. It helps lots. People will come back to you and buy/sell from/to you again. It's also a lot more pleasant. :)

Check prices of any item. The buying,selling and how the supply/demand is.

 

 

 

Be nice!
