cannot delete movie????

I have a DivX movie in a folder on my desktop that has been there forever. I wanted to see if it played, because I remember it playing before I want to either delete if off my hard drive or burn it to a DVD. It's AVI format. When I go to play it in wmp it just does nothing. when the player open it kind of locks up. So I tried deleting it and I get an error, 'it may be in use with other person or app.' blah blah. I'm like yea whatever... I have no clue what to do anyone??

delete it in safe mode, or download a shredder application from somewhere to get rid of it

i was thinking of safe mode, but i just did a system restore. my computer is running normally now and it let me delete it. thanks though ;)
