shadowsr Posted December 27, 2006 Share Posted December 27, 2006 welll im thinking of purchasing a new laptop the one i was looking at had AMD Turion̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-50 running at 1.6ghz each 2gb ddr2 sdram at 533mhz 2 dimm 120gb SATA hardrive at 5400rpm ATI RADEON̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî Xpress1150 with 256MB HyperMemory̢̢̮ââ¬Ã¾Ãââ dual layer dvd burner see this system come with media center edition windows. what i was thinking is that i would be using this for some gaming and school work. windows 2k service pack 4 seems to the be quite good on my pc and does better at gaming. would it effect the laptop in anyway by running 2ksp4 any battery life issues? Cruiser Posted December 27, 2006 Share Posted December 27, 2006 XP MCE will come preinstalled with all the needed drivers for the hardware included in the laptop. Downgrading to Win 2k means you could lose some hardware support (not sure what, but it's a possibility) and you shorten the life span of any security updates Microsoft will be sending out.
