X2theZ
I'm think about switchin up my protectors because I don't think mine is working as good as it could. What are some good programs?
pansynator
I've had AVG for a while and it's done very well. It updates daily so it has always been a good program. But it's uncontinuing mid January i think, so it will be pointless to get it now. ---Do not ask God for an easy life. coltm4carbine
You can still get AVG free. You just have to get 7.5. AVG link: http://free.grisoft.com/doc/avg-anti-virus-free/lng/us/tpl/v5

Meangean
Kaspersky, Nod32, Trojan Hunter was a good program when i was able to use it, Spyware Blaster, Ad-aware, Webroot SpySweeper, use a firewall such as Outpost or some other one.
Guest
Are we talking free or something you pay for? I pay to use Trend Micro PC Cillin and that works effectively for viruses, though its not the best for removing spyware.

Laptop I use Kaspersky Internet Security. It's brilliant. If you are thinking of buying an antivirus get Kaspersky. Desktop I'm gonna install KAV (when i have the time)...ATM it's using AVG. filthy_n_poor
I have another suggestion for You: Processguard. This is probably the best one I found.......if You can handle the drawbacks: 1. The full version (a free, limited one is available) costs $30 2. This one works differently from the ones You're used to. This is called a "HIPS" program. A Host-based Intrusion Prevention System. This one stresses prevention only. You can't scan Your computer for viruses with this, it doesn't work that way. It also can't undo damage already done to Your computer. If a rootkit/trojan/keylogger has already taken root (edited Your registry etc.) on Your machine before You've installed PG, PG won't fix the problem. You'll have to use something else to do that i.e. You'll still need some kind of anti-virus/spyware/registry restoration as well, just in case You make a bad decision, maybe Kaspersky (I only use Ad-Aware, nothing fancy). But aside from that, Processguard lets virtually NOTHING get done on Your machine without Your OK. Merely opening notepad or Internet Explorer prompts it to ask for Your okay (You can choose "always allow" or "always deny" for any that comes up) first. Rootkit Revealer's (a rootkit detection program) drivers can't be installed (full version only. It sure has a lot of drivers!) without Your say-so etc etc etc.
