the only monster i know of that only drops clues are hellhounds you can average getting a clue about every hour for me atleast, but ranger boots are lvl 2 clues and hell hounds drop only lvl 3 clues so the guy was lying.

No such thing.. All lv 2 clues give a random reward upon completion. Ranger boots are just one of the more unique rewards from the clue. All lvl 2 clues dropped by monsters are the same, no such thing as giving only a specific reward. However, there's rumour that lv 2 clues dropped from higher lvl monsters have higher chances of better items.. :-k

Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.

go kill pyrefiends if you got 30 slayer i get a lv 2 clue there every 30 kills or so and they go down in 2-3 hits :) fast lv 2 rewards
