I am also trying to get my range from lvl 41 to lvl 70. What beasts can I fight that drop clue scrolls and some decent drops. I get bored if they don't ever drop anything exciting. Thanks

Rock Crabs are great for level 1.

 

 

 

Dagganoths for level 2

Fire giants seem to be good for you. You can find then in the waterfall dungeon. But they don't drop clue scrolls.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

For clue scrolls at your level i can only see 1 monster: Green dragon (level-79), the only problem you will have is that he lives in Wildness.

You could always try Minotaurs in Stronghold of security. They drop clue scrolls and they're good exp.
