Blipo
Well, I'm trying to install Ubuntu on my computer. When you're in Windows, and you throw in the CD, you know it's working because it gives you a little splash screen, telling you what you can do with the CD. So, I restart, like it tells me to. I change the BIOS so that it boots from my CD drive first, and my two hard drives second and third. And voila, it trys to boot from my CD drive. Searching for Boot Record from IDE.. Ok Master boot Record Error Press any Key to Continue And then it boots from my hard drive. I've tried this procedure with two different CD drives and three CDs. Help much? x76
You can try going to http://www.tech-recipes.com/rx/483/xp_r ... ry_console and doing what they say. Keep in mind the MBR is the most important piece of information on your hard disk. Corruption of the MBR can cause massive data loss.
