I haven't start the quest yet, but for the lvl 170 monster , can we range it withought getting hit by meelee. ( ranging with protect from magic )

I would say range is not suggested unless you want to use a lot of prayer pots, if you use protect from magic and range the sea troll queen drains your prayer like crazy.
