  1. On the guide page for the Temple Trekking / Burgh de Rott Ramble activities, you have a list of "allowable" foods which you can give to the NPC followers before starting a trek. While I cannot give anything not on this list to an NPC before the trek, I have found that I can give anything I have tried so far to the NPC during the trek itself and it will be accepted. Things I have been able to give include sharks, karambwan, cod and mackeral. I have been able to do this by right clicking on a food item and "using" it on the NPC. If the NPC is below full health, it will eat the food immediately while saying "Thanks, I'll get this down my throat right away" or something like that. I should have written it down. If the NPC is at full health, it will say something along the lines of "Thanks, I'll keep this to use later." The same 15 food item quantity limit applies, I cannot give the NPC more than 15 foods. I can only give the foods 1 item at a time unlike the pre-trek transfer. This would probably be a very helpful thing to add to your guide. I know it would have saved me a lot of time trying to pull together "approved" foods to give to the NPCs. It might also be noted that the NPC appears to be restored to full health at the beginning of each event. Say I just went through a combat event and the NPC took some nasty damage. If I offer food before moving on, it will be eaten first and then stored. But if I continue the trek and wait until the next (hopefully noncombat) event starts, then any food I offer goes straight to storage. I hope this information is of help to you and your user base. I wish I was more literate and could provide screen shots of what I'm doing. Sorghaghtani
  2. I noticed while doing the Sorceress' Garden activity that I would get 5 Cooking XPs for each glass of Sq'irk juice I squeezed in the Summer Garden. This admittedly small amount of Cooking XPs is not mentioned in your Sorceress' Garden activity guide. I have not checked the other seasonal gardens to see what they yield. Sorghaghtani
  3. Ok, so continueing along, I dug up an orb scroll for Dorgesh-Kaan. This led me to a spot inside the bank room directly between the 2 tables. This spot is not mentioned on the web page yet. I did my standard pray against magic but this one put up quite a fight. Still did not get poisoned but he did wear me down to half my hitpoints. I am combat 115 by the way with rune chest, dragon legs, adamant boots, dragon square shield, helm of Neitiznot, bonesack, amulet of glory, combat bracelet and ring of wealth, wielding an abyssal whip. I should probably mention, although it isn't really for the clue pages, that the 3 wizards I have fought so far have all dropped regular bones. The first one dropped 8 blood runes. The other two have both dropped 89 coins. I dug up an orb scroll for the elven lands. This led me to a spot between the elven camp and the main bridge, just west of some dense woods. It appears to be listed on the web page. Attacked by a wizard. Went down fairly easy. Dropped bones and 77 coins. Dug up a casket. My reward for following 6 scrolls, doing 2 puzzles and fighting 4 wizards? 9 noted Super Restore (4), 12 noted Tuna Potato, 40 Blood Rune and 19 White Firelighter. I hope this helps and I'll post again if I get another elite clue. Sorghaghtani
  4. Ok, I'll do the best I can on this. I'm tracking an elite clue trail which I got from the Skeletal Horror. I wish I could take screen shots but I honestly don't know how. So far, I've had an orb scroll which led me to the desert north of Nardah. This seems to be a known location but you might want to note that a Guthix Wizard will attack, even if you don't know much about said wizards yet. Best to be prepared. This one was wielding a poisoned dragon dagger and, when I went to pray against melee, proceeded to attack me with magic. The 2nd clue was a compass scroll. You might want to note that compass scrolls operate in real time so you don't have to close the scroll and reopen to get new readings. You might also want to note that, while it gives no reading of distance to the target, you can get some indication by how quickly the needle moves as you travel. This scroll led me to a spot in the wilderness just northwest of the western green dragon pit. I wish I could provide a picture or better information such as coordinates, but I did not have my sextant etc. and I don't know how to capture screen shots. Digging in that spot yielded something called a "Puzzle Scroll Box". Essentially a scroll box with a sliding picture puzzle you need to solve to open it. It wasn't hard to do if you've ever done any of the lower level clue scroll sliding picture puzzles. Key notes are that it was a 5 by 5 puzzle that was apparently somewhat transparent in that I could see the ground through the empty space (so it was a little harder to spot said empty space) and that there is a "hint" spot in the lower left corner which displays the finished puzzle when you mouse over it. Very handy for solving the picture. That yielded another orb scroll for the Fremennik Slayer Dungeon which led me to a spot in the northern central Jelly room. This location is not mentioned on the web page. Closest is "East from the Jelly room". I was not attacked in this location. There I dug up another Puzzle scroll box which contained another compass scroll. It spun wildly while I was in the slayer caves but operated fine once I stepped outside the entrance. It led me to Taverly, to a spot in the flower garden just east of the herblore shop. The 4th row of flowers from the north edge, the fern in the middle of the row. Attacked by a Guthix Wizard (level 125 by the way). Prayed against magic and he just attacked me with melee. Pretty weak, never even got poisoned. Out of space, continued in next post. Sorghaghtani
  5. is lost in space?

  6. I like the new Grand Exchange Centre page, but I noticed a couple things that might have some bad math behind them or could use a little general tweaking. First, take a look at Today's Top 5 Losses By Percentage. When I looked at the page, it was showing Flowers down by 7000%. Also, Weeds and Guam Seeds were both listed as down by 130% and change. I'm not sure how this is calculated, but my understanding is that this is mathematically impossible. Once an item is down 100%, it's value has reached 0 and it cannot go down any further unless you are paying people to take them off your hands. This may be a math problem, but I also note that when I hover over the lines to get more details, the numbers look very strange. So this may be an error in the way the information is gathered prior to the calculations taking place. Or it may be a combination of problems. Second, under Other Stats, there is the Least Expensive Items section. I don't know about Empty Pots, Pouches, Empty Cups and Plant Pots, but I dump Needles all the time. They have no trading range. You can only offer to sell or buy them for a single Coin. Given this fact, and assuming the other items listed are the same way, this section will never change and so has limited value. Perhaps it should be replaced with a section dealing with long term price drops? Or how about a section about turnover level for an item? Is there anyway to determine how many of a particular item sold that day? Sales volume numbers can have an important impact on the significance of price change numbers. Ok, just my 2 Coins worth. 7. Ok, I could really use some help here. Just what am I looking for with these penguins? I got the clue that one is on an island where brothers quarrel. I see that there was one found "near the bank on Jatizso". But what does that mean? I'm at the bank and I see nothing. Am I supposed to be able to mouse over the various rocks and crates and such and see if the action caption says something? Do I have to right click on things and examine/search them? What was the penguin disguised as? Just where is "near the bank"? I figure if I can find the first one, at least I'll know what to expect while looking for the others. Sorghaghtani
  8. Thank you all for your responses. Let me see where I stand. The Zamorkian Spear does not seem like a bad idea. It is fairly reasonable to buy assuming there is any kind of supply. I didn't realize that a spear would have a crush attack. Silly me. The Karil's Armour is a bit more problematic. I can certainly afford it, I just don't like the idea of buying too many of my goodies. I like to make or aquire them myself whenever possible. I am fairly comfortable with my defensive level against the waterfiends. They don't hit me very hard or very often. If I could deal more damage at a faster rate and kill more than just 2 on a trip, I'd be pretty happy. I think I'll try out the spear first and keep the armour in mind. Everybody seems to be of the opinion that I shouldn't use the chaos tunnels but go straight to the ancient cavern. The problem I have with that is the dragon factor. Yes, chaos tunnels are multicombat, but the iron minotaur helps cut that down nicely. I ventured into the ancient cavern once back when I finished the barbarian fire training, took one look at that big green beastie breathing fire at me behind my little anti-dragon shield, and ported my puckered little behind back to safety real quick. Ok, I'm a wimp. Or at least cautious. Will I be constantly ducking those dragons in the cavern or do I just need to run like mad past the first one and then deal with only waterfiends 1 on 1? I assume the ancient cavern isn't multicombat or there would be no question about going there. Oh, and I use iron minotaurs because I have them. I am barely summoning 54 and do not have a large supply of the higher charms. As it is, I will probably use up my pouches before I finish the waterfiends and then I'll have to resort to an even lesser summoning. Or buy my way out, which I would really prefer not to do as I mentioned earlier. So my plan for now will be to buy a Zamorkian Spear and see how it works for a couple of trips. I may make a "dry run" into the ancient cavern to have a better look around, fully expecting to die while doing it so I'll only bring 3 good items and some stuff I can afford to lose. And I'll check back for any more thoughts/suggestions you helpful fellows may have. Thanks. Sorghaghtani
  9. Ok, so here is the basic deal. I have been assigned waterfiends for the first time. According to the bestiary, I should use crush attacks while wearing my black d'hide for magic resistance and praying against ranging. I am using a rune warhammer for this because I have one. I don't like to spend big money for things I won't use a lot, and I have an abyssal whip for general melee. With an almost full load of monkfish, some stat boosting potions and an iron minotaur (because I have them) summoned to divide their attacks and help with the fighting, I am generally killing 1 or 2 per trip into the chaos tunnels. I managed to kill 3 once. I realize that a warhammer is not the fastest weapon, but I also seem to get a lot of misses or low damage hits. Yes, these waterfiends are a challenge for my lowly combat 105 character. I will work through them, but I'd like to be able to get it done a little faster. Question: What do people recommend for weaponry and/or strategies? I will read all responses with interest and decide which seem best suited to my playing style. Would buying a granite maul be worth the gold? How much slower would it be than a warhammer? How much harder will it hit? Accuracy? Will it resell quickly afterwards if I don't want to keep it? Any advice would be welcome. Sorghaghtani
  10. When the mounds reset after a flag planting, they only reset for a limited area. If you have cleared out an area larger than the reset, you can start clearing again easily. You get points for clearing mounds, in varying amounts, and can find more ogleroots to trade for gold (50 each) or to use against rabbits (makes them disappear temporarily). Also, I have found that you get very few (<5) points for being "nearby" when another player plants a flag. Even if I am standing in the same square as that player. Your time is better spent enlarging a cleared area before the reset occurs. Sorghaghtani
  11. The update I'm currently pushing for  is to bring the bone grinder at the ectofuntus back into line with other skills which no longer require repetitive clicking. And I could really use all the help I can get because I seem to be :wall: . Just search the Jagex forums for "grinder" and add your voice to the call. Please? Pretty please?
