  1. I need help with my inventory key binds. I want to get them set up and working the way they did 6 months ago (if possible), but I can’t figure it out. Six months ago, I could set the key bind (default ‘x’ or ‘y’) to the lower right inventory slot. Then, with a full inventory of something that can be dropped (raw fish or ore), I could press x or y and rapidly drop the items, one by one. For those familiar with the “Do No Evil” quest, this is how the key bind operates when dropping green bananas to lure the guard away from the three wise monkeys.) Six months ago, this would also work if the key bind was set to the upper left inventory slot. The items would be dropped and the key bind location (the red or blue square in the back pack) would progress, row by row, until all the items were dropped But today, and in fact for quite a while now (since some update) the key bind only drops the one item in the back pack slot it is assigned to. It doesn’t repeat dropping with repeated x or y key presses. It doesn’t advance. I’ve tried looking through the various settings menus but have had no luck. Does anyone know how to set this up like I want it?
  2. Thanks Aes Sedai. Question answered. :-)
  3. In Player Owned Ports, I have the options of upgrading the Bar to: Sinister Bar (Emphasizing captains with combat or morale) Nautical Bar (Emphasizing captains with higher seafaring or speed) Luxurious Bar (Even distribution of improvement) My question is, can I add all of these (one at a time of course) or must I pick and choose only one (even if I change it later).
  4. A warning to all... do a mental survey. Any other websites where you used your email address and the same password? Even casual ones? Might want to change those too, before too much time goes by. My trick. I embed a portion of the website's name in my password. That way, they are still easy to remember but still unique for each site.
  5. Thanks from me too! Of the half dozen thread I read asking for help, this is the only one that answered the question. The only thing I'd clarify is that the fishing spot is on the east side of the river. So cross the log to get to the east side, then go due north. It's on the shore right there next to the fairy ring.
  6. Really, this happens all the time. But it's most evident while I'm running somewhere, or someone else is running past me. Every once in a while, RS (or my IE window, or JAVA, or my computer, or whatever) gets into the mode where the game pauses momentarily about every 3 seconds. The entire screen freezes for about half a second and then 'catches up' and continues. This happens very regularly (the 3 second/half a second cycle). It's not what I'd call a lag, which to me, are more random, and freeze up the game for seconds at a time. A long time ago (year or so) I read a thread on this. The author said my computer was to fast/powerful for the game, and I needed to slow it down. I tried opening other programs, to increase the load on my computer. Results were unreliable, but occasionally, it would fix the problem. I'd get a smooth running RS. (Occasionally, even a TIP.IT banner ad would do the trick. ... Never been thankful for a banner ad before.) Well... this problem finally went away on its own. That was quite some time ago. Now it's back. I haven't installed, or uninstalled anything. I did reboot though. (I was getting real lags for a while.) Has anyone experienced (and hopefully fixed) this? I'm at a loss. I should add... (edited) I have a Dell Dimension, with an Intel and lots of RAM and disk space. I also have a DSL connection. Thanks in advance.
  7. I believe the Oak larder is the fastest too. It uses 8 planks. At present, I have the cook as servent, and she brings 16 planks in the time it takes me to make two larders. I didn't know about taking noted oak logs though. That will speed things up even more.
  8. Try fremmiken, and use the enchanted lyre to get to it. (trades raw sharks for law runes)
  9. About 2 months ago, "tks" contacted me in game... asking for free stuff. Thinking that was a bit strange, I asked "her" a few personal questions, like where we met (in game) and such. What I got, by way of an answer, was an immediate log-off. I think her kids got hold of her account. They play RS also, and the last time I spoke to her (really her), she had logged on simply to give some stuff to her kids. (That was about 6 months ago.)
  10. Works like the "Enchanted" key, and lets you find (and sneak up on) friends that are on your server by telling you whether you are getting closer to, or further away from them.
  11. I want to make wheel barrels and wagons to cart around more ore. ;-)
  12. Runecrafters themselves get skulled after their first trip through the abyss. Is it possible that the attacking mages don't get skulled because they are attacking targets that have skulls?
  13. Actually, his recommendation is on track. Turning on RS music always solves the problem. (Though it's a solution I don't like, since I'd rather not listen to those tunes all the time.) I also found that, if I start a movie in my DVD drive, then pause it (and minimize the video player), the extra load on my computer works too, and RS smooths out. And I just tried the "more distant server" approach, loading up Sydney. (I'm in Denver), and that worked too.
  14. When I set my music option to OFF, all RS motion becomes jerky with about a 1 second interval between momentary freezes. This goes for my motion, other's motion, and the overall picture. When I set my music option to ON (any level, 1, 2, 3, etc.), all motion becomes smooth, and everything is fine. This problem just started today, which is the first time I've played since the most recent update. I've checked Internet options for java settings, deleted cookies, and tried various Java options when loading RS. Symptioms are the same regardless. Anyone have any ideas how to fix this, with music OFF. I prefer to listen to my own tunes. (Yes, this is the same problem as I posted earlier. I started a new post because I have much clearer information this time.)
