Should we pull Debate Club out from under Rants?

Featured Replies

Now that this forum has established itself, it's time to consider whether it should be it's own forum or not. As it turns out, the idea has been posted on our Forum Updates & Suggestions board.

I just thought of another subforum that I believe should be divided. Although we have been talking about merging subforums, I believe that the Debate Forum should be their own forum. The Debate Club is a mature forum where a lot of users discuss important issues. The Debate Club is a forum that is totally different than rants. There is less flaming and less people being immature.

There has been a higher traffic in the Debate Club lately, and I think that it deserves it's own spot in the limelight. I know the traffic hasn't been overwhelming, but neither has the rants forum. I think that if anything, the rants forum should be a sub-forum of the Debate Club. The Debate Club just seems more useful and it influences the good parts of Tip.It because it shows that debates can occur without spam or flaming. The rants forum is simply a way for people to blow off steam, not much discussion can flow through that. The Debate Club actually has discussion going on. There usually is no right or wrong in a debate, that's why this forum is so great!
