MONSTER TRANSFORMATION-REEDITTED!!!!CHECK IT OUT

now, as the title implies, i would like you fellow runescapers to be able to transform into the monsters that you fight against. Why would you want that? Well, we all know some monsters like the KBD or some other cool monsters have some cool effects. And, it could have some "new" abilities that allow you to take pking to the next lvl. the first thing to be able to transform is to have a "transformation stone". That allows you to transform into one of the 5 legendary monsters in runescape, each at its lvl with its own special effect. Of course, the stone won't be as easy to obtain. There will be a quest to obtain the stone. Yes, the stone is free. BUT you must also be at the minimum of lvl 55 and must have completed the dragon slayer quest. Here's a little outline of the quest, a very LIGHT outline:

The first thing you do is to talk to the Legendary Wizard at the wizard's tower. He will tell you about the ability to transform into the 5 legendary monsters that once ruled the world. he will then ask you if you would like to be able to have that skill, and you say yes. You must first prove yourself by collecting 100 giant skulls, a drop that can only be obtained through this first quest task. (Note that all collections up to demon ashes will be a 90% chance drop.)Then bring the skulls back to the wizard, and he will tell you what to do next. Collect 100 ice swords from the ice warriors. Go back again and this time he will tel you to collect 100 demon ashes from the lesser demons. Talk to the wizard again. This time, he will ask you to obtain 30 fangs of greater demon. For the last task, you must collect 1 spirit of Shade, Zombie, Tree Spirit, River Troll, and Rock Golemn. The drop rate for those spirits this time will not be 100%, but wil be 1/5. This is probably the hardest one, cuz its the last =P. After he takes the spirits, he will challenge you to a battle. You must win in order to obtain the stone. His lvl is 99, so be careful. He will be able to cast a random blast spell, but his defense will be low (lvl 40 def). I advise you get protect from magic first. The protection will be a 65% protection as well. This battle is tougher than the dragon slayer one. Bring good food, and if you die, you will be respawned on the spot with 10 hp with no item loss. No exp will be gained as well.

Now, that is the outline of the quest. He will then explain to you how to use it, which i will explain for him now. The stone must be equipped in your ring section. From now on, every monster you kill will increase your stone's "rage". Depending on the lvl of the monster, it will give you from 1-10 rage points per kill. Once you reach lvl 1 rage (1000 points, for each lvl), it will become a checkpoint and will keep the points from there on. After that, you can gain up to lvl 4, and each lvl can give you 15 min of transformation time. But in the wildernes, the rate will be 5 min per lvl. When you drop back to lvl 1, your monster form will disappear. That is only half of what you need to transform. the next part is obtaining the spirits.

A spirit is the spirit of the legendary monster, which you must equip in place of your necklace. The spirits can be obtained by fighting ANY monster. Keep in mind that the higher the lvl of the monster, the better of the 5 legendary spirits it will drop. The spirits are untradable, and you can only obtain each one ONCE. If you lose one, then you can trade 1000 rune essence, 100 nature, 10 laws, and 1 of each elemental rune for the Legendary Magician to resummon the spirit back to you. The drop rate will be quite rare, as in 1/20 chance for orc, 1/25 chance for ice warrior, 1/40 chance for demon, 1/45 chance for doggebi, and 1/50 chance for dragon. Now here is a description of the monsters:

(min lvl 55) Legendary Orc:

*note: all rage points used to use skills are increased by 75% of the original cost of rage. ex., demonic slash in wildies would use up 306.25 rage points.

I hope that has given you MINIMAL information about my idea, so point, laugh, or comment about my idea, as it is far less superior to my "suicide" option idea, but oh well.

Sup noobs.

Way too powerful, I mean 50 damage at lvl 70 magic?!?!?! That's nuts. Those monsters are overpowered for the level requirements. However your idea is interesting. You'd have to make the quest requirements a bit more difficult,

there, i changed it to lvl 85 magic. i was thinking 90...but that's a bit over i think. also changed fangs to 30, and spirits from the random events to 1/5 chance drop instead of 100%. That should be hard enough. any more complaints and itll be 1/100.

this is a quite interesting concept, and very origanal.

But what if you made it a skill? There could be a quest like the one you specified, but then instead of getting the 5 spirits, what if you started out turning into chickes or golbins, and worked your way up to demons, maybe dragons. Every lvl you could gain another creature to transform into, but u would need an item of that creatures, a feather, cow hide, ashes, scales, etc.

This would have to work like prayer, where the time you could spend as the thing drained from the skill directly, so if you were lvl 99 you could walk around like a chicken for ever. This would of course completly and totally change the entire face of the game, so it would have to be balanced somehow. The ramifications would be huge, and everything from, pking (walking around as a greater demon or dragon in the wild would be great) to merchanting (becoming a giant of somesort to stand above the crowd and get your msg out) Peoples name and lvl would still show when you clicked on them, and and you couldnt mine, smith, wc, rc, etc unlesss you were in human form.

To implement this impossible skill, they would ahev to balance it perfectly. Chickens (an example) would be fast, weak creatures used to run away and hide in the wild, wjile giants and demons would be slow, but strong, etc. You could wield weapons with only some of the creatures to keep it balanced, and when the actual transformation occurs, there would be stall, so randomly turning into a demon in the wild would give them chances to attack you, or change also, or run, before you owned them. There could be dm with giant vs demon, kalphite vs dragon, etc.

This skill would be very exciting, and if by chance there could be a way to limit it, balance it, and succsesfully implement it, then it would be an intriuging, amusing, and powerful revolution, that would have to be added with delicacy and care.

That was just me bored and rambling, hope it makes sense, and sounds as interesting to use as it did to me

quite nice idea, but like shadow said, if it was a skill with a drain lv thing, it would be better.

it would better to have a special talisman or amulet, so people that lv could only change into a monster when they have a disability, like no glory or less food.......

a nice idea, but lower the power of the specials, and itll be nice

You should stick to quitting.

Of course it would be fun but do you think this idea has any practicality? Something like this would take months to code, for minimal improvement, and subsequent problems, glitches and moaning.

I'd rather Jagex stuck with new quests or something, personally.

@bubsa: if that's just you, then ok :D also, there were lots of things that jagex added that took lots of coding. and nothing's impossible, as long as it will improve the gaming. perhaps they will make it members only?

anyways, yes i thought over the balancing thing. there already is a drain thing. you can max your rage to lvl 4 only. and for each lvl, you can only use 15 min, and in wildies the rate will be reduced to 5 min. and once you use a lvl you will lose it forever and will have to fight again to raise the points.

and yes about the armour thing you have to wear the spirit in place of your amulet, and the stone in place of your ring. also, all your armour must be taken off, except for your weapon. your atking skills, will also be replaced. if you have a dragon weapon or soemthing with a special ability, it will be cancled. Also, In order to use the special atks, you will now have to use up some of your rage. Depending on the lvl of the monsters, say for example flaming white dragon, you use up half your rage. that should balance it out a bit.

  • 2 weeks later...

u think too much, the transformation concept is too impractical. like someone said earlier on, it would take months to code, and one more thing, people who are already lagging badly, do u want them to jump around cursing the lag(thats if everyone is trasforming into huge monsters)?

think bout it, this idea is plain crap, it would be hard to contain all these in a java game

PS:think out of the box, but not too far out
