That evil spirit isn't level 150 as suggested in the guide, it's different as shown below: (Level 80)

Also, just for the record, they didn't disease me during combat. Maybe I was lucky, not sure. :)

Aren't there boots/gloves that protect you from the disease?

The Slayer Gloves protect you from disease. Also there's Recyclim's Balm (sp?) that cures it.

Oh, and I wasn't using slayer gloves and didn't have a potion affecting me.

As for disease, that was removed from the game when the EoC changes came into effect, so I removed mention of that stuff too.
