  1. Thanks for the birthday wishes all :)
  2. Dear Runescapers Past and Present, Please join me in wishing The Gladiatorz Clan a happy 11th birthday! Eleven years ago today, Joe Jenninz, Jerico, and Blaze Mace officially founded our clan, and inexorably changed the course of Runescape's Clan-world. Today we stand as the second longest-running clan in Runescape, next to our long time friends and allies through the years, 'The' Clan. Having been a Gladiator since a few weeks after the clan was founded, and having been a Runescaper since day one, I can honestly say that is has been a blast. The Gladiatorz' top notch community has really been more of an online-family for many of us. Looking on Runescape as I write this, I see people playing who have been in our clan ranging from 11 years to 1 day. We have an enduring legacy of warring, fun, and community, and would like to take this opportunity to thank the rest of the clan community— friends or enemies, new or old— for helping make Runescape as fun as it has been for us. To celebrate this year, we hosted a variety of celebratory events, both PvP and general fun events. A recap of our week-long PvP celebration leading up to our birthday can be found here. If you happen to be on world 66 this evening, you may also find us burning down some RS cities to mark the conclusion of our 11th Birthday celebrations! Looking forward to sharing the next 11 years with you, The Gladiatorz Clan ------- For your enjoyment, here is an assortment of pictures from throughout our 11 years: Gladz prep for an official war in RS Classic shortly after rune went on sale in the champions guild (not my picture, I don't know who the "me" is). Gladz' (and thus Runescape's) first ever "Firefest" event. The legendary "Ride of the Rohirrim" theatrical war tactic in the last official war RS Classic ever saw: The Gladiatorz vs Zeonic Force. (There's a great story behind this). In 2006, Gladz defeated DS to become the #1 warring clan in Runescape (this was before Jagex removed random events from the wilderness, and our 220 person pile was plagued by randoms while waiting for DS to show up. Celebrating our Gladz vs DS win: Another fun pixel-art caricaturing many well known Gladz after the defeat of RSD in the 2008 Gladz vs RSD official war. And a couple fun pictures to end with: This topic wouldn't be complete without a picture of Gladz from this week: Here's to 11 years of memories!
  3. At the beginning of the week The Gladiatorz, 'The' Clan, and Corruption agreed to a two-hour-cap PKRI. After an initial crash by Divine Forces, we hopped worlds, where DF showed up again. Then VR proceeded to clear them for us and the main event got underway with about equal options. The rest is history! Right from the get go the pummeling began. In Edgeville 3+ Corruption could be seen returning for every member of 'The' or Gladz. We chased around constant regroups and showed off our transitioning skills. Thank you for the relatively clean fight Corruption. It was a pleasure exchanging blows with such a large clan. To members of all clans: Please keep this topic clean. It was a good fight, we all had fun, and there is no need to flame. Rules: 2 Hour Cap All Styles Boundaries: Spiders to Gds Rocks No Corrupt No Dungeoneering 7 Sniper Cap 'The' + Gladz attack No cape switching Starting: Gladz + 'The': Corruption: Immediate Ending: Gladz + 'The': 231 Corruption: 162 The Afterparty: The Gladiatorz + 'The' Clan: 10 Years and Going Strong!
  4. Even BK are invited if they want to come. I was friends with several Bk members prior to 2005!
  5. Before anyone says it, I know this is the wrong forum Just thought clanners might be interested since as far as I am aware, I am the oldest continually active clanner in Runescape, and most everyone who has been in a major clan over the past ten years has crossed paths with me at some point, whether they know it or not.
  6. January 4th, 2011 is the 10th anniversary of not only Runescape itself, but of my playing the game. From middle schooler to college graduate, from athlete to circus performer, my life has been a crazy ride. All through these past ten years, however, there has always been Runescape and The Gladiatorz Clan (who are celebrating their 10th anniversary next month). Ten years later, it's time to max out my melee stats. Barring a few summers on the road without internet access, I've been slowly chipping away, level by level, at those 99s. If I remember correctly, I gained my first level in a melee skill the day the game was released by fighting my friend and others over and over again at the Lumbridge spawn spot (before it was a safe zone). When the wilderness was released in late 2001, over a period of years, I slowly gained levels by simultaneously training and pk'ing at the zombie graveyard and the ever popular hobgoblin mine with friends and clan-mates. After the release of slayer in Runescape 2, I have since trained melee almost exclusively by slaying. It has been a long, slow road, and before I give the event details, I would like to give a special recognition to all of the generations of men and women from The Gladiatorz Clan. These friends and clan-mates have encouraged me all the way from a level 30 who showed up to his first clan meeting wearing iron and bronze gear that he smithed himself, to a level 121 (soon to be 122!) who can still barely smith anything above iron. Thank you each and every one of you! It is for you that I have continued playing and training all these years. Event Details: What: Party in honor of my 10th anniversary on Runescape and the game itself. I will be maxing out attack, strength, and defense. Day: Tuesday, January 4th, 2011 Time: 7:00 pm EST / 12:00 am GMT (Jan 5th) Location: The guards in front of Varrock Castle World: Server 14 Clan Chat: Gladz Chat Dress Code: If possible, please come in green or purple. Green for my hair and clan, and purple for those stylish clothes I've been wearing since day one. The Rafi look: I hope to see you there! Rafi of the Gladiatorz

  9. Famous Pk'ers: Skullator was not a particularly well known pk'er, he just posted a lot of videos. Ghandi256 was one of the best I ever saw. He took down most everyone who was anyone back in the early rs2 magebank days. Was also a notorious tank/survivor. Was known as the "partyhat pker" for a period because he got drunk one night and went out pk'ing in a blue and no one could kill him. Famous Stakers: Cursed You was arguably not actually a good staker, though I'm sure he won plenty legit too. He may deny it, but he was a bug abuser and used it to win tons of party hats, other rares, and loads of cash off people before they realized. Jagex would just about never ban anyone for abusing duel arena bugs to win fights, so people weren't afraid to abuse when bugs were discovered, and loads did so. Pissed me off to no end. I lost so many hundreds of millions to bug abusers over the years. Some more obvious than others, many I didn't know about to avoid until informed after the fact. They were often proud of it and bragged. Cursed You never admitted to it. ------- Little known glitch you don't have. I don't know if anyone else ever found this because it didn't become well known, but there was a square of map in the underground pass that you could walk off of and then just walk around on air. Bug with stackable range items where it stacked ranged bonus (credit & picture Paintbal13) To prove that I'm not just some idiot delegitimizing Cursed You: My hayday of staking in the earlier days of RS2 (I was never close to maxed so I was never part of the mainstream crowd. Not asking to be included in the topic, just legitimizing myself as a staker). I never took a bank picture, but this was the most I ever profitted in a single session of staking. To put it in perspective, blue partyhats, the most expensive item in the game, were only worth 20-25m then. Long before whips. I staked straight from classic through to the removal of staking from the game. Logs were yews.
  10. 45 minutes of ownage. I was the first one piled but they didn't pile me again after that so I ended with 2 kills 1 death. Thanks for coming out TNC.
  11. Was a hell of a fun day. I was at 5 kills 0 deaths, but right as I had to go (before the 2 v 2) I stupidly walked alone in robes into BK before I logged and that didn't end well for me! Haha. Thanks for the fun fights today everyone. Wish I could have stayed for the 2 v 2 they are always fun!
  12. It was a very fun trip. I'm Glad to see that other clans have started f2p pk'ing as well without constantly trying to start an endless run-in. It was getting lonely for a while!
