Life and Death

Well, all in all, I'm in over my head.

Between the new life that is the skill Dungeoneering, which I personally think should've been aborted, and the death of the most important man in my life, Kokomo, It's all become too much lately.

I'm in a transitional period in my life and I think a prolonged break from Runescape will help. Hopefully while I take this time to reorganize my priorities Jagex will do likewise and stop the trainwreck that is now their game.

Good luck to anyone who needs it.

Off for a month at least,

Katya

I can't login to AOL

I have 3 email addresses for it and I can't get into any. Is anyone else having any problems or is it just me? I got a scan going on my computer and not logging into RS just in case.

-edit- I'm able to get back in now, but I did discover a few low threat trojans on my computer, but they're only harmful if I'm running a really old version of Java, Still wondering how they got on there, but oh well, gone now.

Good news

It turns out that next year I will be eligible for Social Security. That is if I decide to go on some disability, which considering I probably could qualify for.

Now modesty forbids telling you exactly how much I have paid into it, but seeing the amount of money I have contributed and will never get back due to it going bankrupt in about 10 years. :wall:

Take that!

Yeah, box said it would take 45-60 minutes to put it together. It took me 4 and half hours to do, but I managed to complete it. Even though my hands are screwed up and I can't do this stuff in any competent way, I managed to put the grill together on saturday night and have people over on Sunday.

So take that grill makers! :P

What puts me out

The worst thing I can get that totally puts me down is a headache. I don't know why. I know other people get them and aren't that affected by them, but for me a headache just kills me. I can handle stomach aches, stiff necks, insect bites, all that, but why oh why is it that when I get a headache I just want to curl into a ball in the dark with no light or sound and just lay on my bed.

This is the second day in a row with a headache and I hate it. God someone give me some Alieve and a quiet place to sleep it off.

Is there anything on this world better than watching Maury Povich and watching two guys fighting over who is the daughter of some girl and it turns out neither of them are the father and she's a total skank? icon_thumbs.gif

Ow, it hurts

Warning: This a bit gross

Okay, ever since I had the morphine from my little accident. Anyway one of the side effects was some very annoying constipation. Well, 5 days after getting off my two days of drugs and it had finally broken. It was also nice enough to hit on my first day back to work. All day. In any case when I got home I weighed 4 1/2 pounds less than when I left this morning. Lovely, no?

Okay, so I'll give a little update on my injuries that I sustained as a result of being an idiot getting a piece of tail.

My nose wasn't a terrible break so I won't have any facial deformities, but it'll take about a month to fully heal. They said it'll stop hurting in a week or so.

My shoulder will take six weeks to heal and I'll have my arm in a sling the whole time. So that should be fun.

My wrist was only a hairline fracture so I'm gonna be in a soft cast for around 4-6 weeks. It's not too bad. I'm glad I'm right handed.

I'm off the pills I was prescribed for the pain of my shoulder. I'm going to be taking some Alieve for the next few days to cope with what's left, but at least I'll be a little more lucid. Anybody I talk to on RS will probably be happy to hear this.

Okay, now that that's done, I wanted to talk about something else. I've gone blonde. And I don't mean I've gone stupid, falling down trying to go pee not withstanding. I dyed my hair blonde. I did it over the weekend and haven't had much time to contemplate it yes. I'm not sure what I think so I've got a couple of pics I took On Saturday and Sunday.

Oh, and if anyone is wondering, she gave me the one on the left side of my neck friday night, the one on the right on Saturday night, and I busted my butt on Sunday night.

Ah Mah Gawd

Okay, so I know it's not the most valuable reward, but the point is that I got four seperate treasure trail exclusive rewards on one treasure trail. That is friggin' insane to me.

I hurt myself

So Saturday night started out fun. Was hanging with this new girl, watched Funny People of DVD, did some other stuff, and then fell asleep in bed. Well I wake up a couple of hours later because I had to pee. Really, really, bad. So I had to rush out of my bedroom to hit the bathroom at the end of the hall. I race down the hall and hang a right so I can head into my bathroom. Only it wasn't my bathroom. I wasn't at my house, I was at this girls house and in her house the bathroom is to the left, so I totally missed the step-up that their is to the right that goes into the kitchen. And I crashed. Hard. A combo arm jamming and a deflected faceplant.

Injuries: Broken nose, cracked tooth, broken left wrist, and a dislocated left shoulder. So I'm typing this with my right hand and it's taking forever. I am on some painkillers and playing Runescape so I guess I could be worse. In fact, I swear I'm flying.

Eagle!

Screwed in advance

Just a note, this blog isn't about Runescape.

Okay, now this was something that seriously bothered me yesterday. To anyone who may not know, I'm a librarian. Now usually I don't work with the public, but yesterday I was working the downstairs front desk for most of the day. Anyway one of the jobs you do down there is you have a number of items being held on reserve for people to come pick them up. DVDs, books, videos, typical fare. Anyway, a young girl came around to pick up a book she had on reserve. She was probably somewhere between 13-14 years old if I had to guess. So I asked for the name it was under.I will keep her last name a secret as it's no one's business really, but it was her first name that caught my attention.

Her name was Euthanasia.

Now let that sink in beacause it needs to be thought about. Euthanasia, spelled that way, letter for letter.

Now look, I understand that some black people, even though they haven't had a relative see Africa in over 400 years, know nothing about it, know nothing of it's culture, know nothing of the people who live there, and maybe a 1/3 to 1/2 of them come from an ancestor who came from an island in the Carribbean anyway, wish to express some form of their African heritage. I don't get how giving your kids stupid names accomplishes this.

But as dumb as it is on its own, I don't think you understand the ramifications this will have on them in the future. Not the near future, I'm talking more than two decades after you give birth to them. Long after you appear on Maury to find out which of the two cousins in her father. Long after she's having trouble in school and you don't help her because you're more worried about going to da club at 30 years old. Long after she's in high school, and friends with other girls named Campho-Phenique and Shaquaqua and having trouble, but you can't help her because you didn't finish high school. Long after you gave her a ridiculous name. She's going to have to look for a job.

Now if she does well enough to have a job where she sends in a resume, what kind of first impression do you think this name will make? Let's say some employer gets three resumes for a job. One from Mary, one from Susan, and one from Euthanasia. What kind of first impression do you think that will make? How much harder is she going to have to work to get the job because you named her after the word that is defined as "mercy killing?" It's utter crap.

Frankly, the only place Euthanasia should have in all this is that we perform it on the dumb mother who named her daughter that. Killed for the mercy and the future of her child.

Days off

I love my days off. They're awesome. Honestly it's the best thing in the world to sleep in, not worry about whether or not to shower, not caring if you're wearing clean underwear, knowing you have all the food you want and that you can spend the whole day in your house and not have to leave. Just sit on your butt and play Runescape, if that's what you do with your day.

Today, I'll probably be training Slayer, and by the end of the day, I hope to have 86 Slayer and 93 Attack.

OH, BTW, Racheya had a great article up on the Tip.it Times. I liked her better than the other one, but that might be because I like more ranty articles like the one she did.

back at work

Thursday. Awesome day for me. I'm back at work for the next 4 days, no updates for at least five days, which now it'll likely be an upgrade or no update at all, and on top of all that, I broke up with my girlfriend. So yeah, stuff is kinda sucking.

Anyway, today I'm doing some sawmill training until level 91, then I'll go a-slaying for a while. After that, whom knows? Agility perhaps?

Being sick

God being sick sucks. Like a lot. It makes everything you do suck. Playing Runescape seems grueling when you don't feel well. Know how annoying it is to try and focus on clicking something on Ape Atoll agility course when you feel dizzy? I'll probably end up fishing or woodcutting. Something I don't have to pay a lot of aatention to.
