The Illustrated and Animated Adventures of a Noob Completionist

Entries in this blog

Picked up SGWD recently (although with EoC, that really isn't saying very much) and decided to vid the beginning of my third trip.

I'm really getting the hang of EoC combat, although my auto-attack/ability timing can still use work. In any case, I'm using them well enough to passably kill bosses efficiently and quickly.

I was told to charge into SGWD with a shield for rejuvenate and the defense, but looking back on the trip after it was over, I doubt I really REALLY needed the shield and could've done just switching to it two or three times over the course of the hour. So there's something to try in the future.

In any case, here's the video. Enjoy.

So as with every comp caper, it comes a time when we have to take a deep sigh, tighten up our belts, and run head first into a new quest and take it down like we're being paid to.

This time was no different.

Except instead of rambo'ing level 5 spiders I get beat back by lava shits. It's like in X-Men 3 when Juggernaut's running through that lab chasing Shadowcat and killing ALL the walls and then that little mutant boy takes away his powers and he kinda just faceplants into the wall.

And then Shadowcat is all like LOLTHX

Pretty much that's what happened to me. But if anything, I just got away with calling myself Juggernaut. Ye. All day.

Anyways here's the video of all of attempts at this kid.

So after being thrown into a world with EoC with no prior experience, I've finally understood stuff enough to piece together solid QBD runs. I'm doing pretty good killing this thing, and today marks the first time I've been able to kill her since like....forever.

Seriously.

I only killed her once before and that was for comp. And I cheated. I used range. And who uses ranged? Ain't nobody got time fo dat.

Anyways here's the video. I'm just happy I can finally reclaim my dignity from this giant worm thing.

Been slacking in my playtime in RS lately. Been busy with not-schoolwork in college, lol, so there's that.

On a more specific and less-revealing note, decided to go to Pokemon Online today and try my luck with my old team. I think it went pretty well.

But eh, made some stupid mistakes that I sorta regret. All the same for being months out of practice and not in-touch with the BW2 metagame at all, I thought I did pretty well.

The Zaaptastic Ghost Buster

Part 1 of 2+ likely of H'ween vids. I attempt to freestyle the event and find myself greatly distressed.

Guest apparances of Gwyn and Naive. Consent was not asked for nor necessary for this production. Tough applesauce, guys.

BTS October Thoughts

Video discussing my thoughts in more detail here:

October looks like it's going to be an exciting month. Nothing ground-breaking, but everything is a welcome and interesting update. Top mentions are:

KBD: Old boss revamps are always bound to revive dead content, especially something as old as the KBD which literally has not been exclusively touched in years. Should boost both QBD and KBD popularity with the ornament kit drop. Finally, I am really looking forward to the new lore introduced. I'll probably go out and kill KBD a few times (if possible granted the high accessibility and low difficulty of the KBD) just to find out about it first hand.

H'ween Event: I forgot to mention in the video, but I do believe this year's holiday event is the first event where Jagex is offering rewards beyond typical cosmetic items in the form of the ecto-whatever-crusher. It's not a significant item, as the bonecrusher itself isn't very big, but it should be a nice little thing to have. Not really anything else special, although Jagex also seems to be going away from the Grim Reaper theme of Halloween and overall making less of a big deal about this seasonal event. May just be because there's two this month. Eh.

Solomon's Store: Not all worthy mentions are good ones. I could rant on about the increased emphasis on clearly unpopular microtransactions, but instead I'll comment on how Jagex is focusing increasingly on their latest microtransaction method. Notice the progression from loyalty store -> SoF -> Solomon's, and how they've slowly put more weight on the newer one while easing off the older ones.

I really haven't been using this feature of TIF. Looking back at my past entries...wow, so much has changed since then. It's both comforting and discomforting at the same time. Kinda hard to explain.

So I've been starting to make a few video blogs to record and share my experiences in RS since I came back from quiting (that didn't last very long did it?).

Today, I was able to return my completionist cape to its rightful place on my backside.

Happy New Year everyone! To those who have celebrated it already, and those who have yet to see it come.
