  1. I agree that we need to close social gaps to an extent, but if we made everyone equal, our nation and economy would go down the tubes. We already try to close the gap with Welfare, etc. and the Poor don't pay taxes. Even though Obama says that the rich people need to help out more, the top 20% of income earners in the US pay 80% of the total income taxes. Is that fair?
  2. I didn't miss any fail, I just fail to see the point in me reierating mysef to the naves. Bush invades a country that is a member of OPEC and gas prices go up. Since we've already established the fact that Bush did not care if he was misinformed and invaded for the wrong reasons, we can also assume that he is there for something entirely different. What would be the obvious assumption? Oil. Or in the case that has been stated already: God. Just because Iraq or Saudi Arabia doesn't supply the U.S. with 99.9% of our oil, doesn't mean we don't want to control the oil we do get from them. Why would we invade a country for oil when we have the most and cheapest oil in almost, if not the whole world? I'm not a fan of the war in Iraq and how we jumped into it and have handled it, but to say we went in there for oil is completely ridiculous. And it's not like America directly would be getting oil, it would be different companies from all over the world trying to get in on it, which is predicted to happen after we leave.
  3. Yeah, a real battle of the defences. GO PENN STATE!
  4. But those big evil rich people pay all of the taxes anyways, so [bleep] all you want poor people, they're paying your taxes. ;)
  5. Wow, I really thought that Texas tech - Kansas game would be better, man Kansas got slaughtered :?
  6. What the hell is that supposed to prove?
  7. Oops, you fail. did you miss your fail? And I doubt that Bush invaded Iraq solely because God supposedly told him to.
  8. We play OSU toay though, that is our biggest game this year, won't even be suprised if we lose. also there's a pretty good game going on between Kansas and Texas tech going on atm :) Go Kansas!
  9. And Obama won't do the same thing? McCain is alot more left than you would think, but running for president you have to represent your party as a whole. Nope, he won't. Did you read the differences in their interviews with scientific publications? McCain is completely anti-Science. Why do you single out evolution? I'm sorry that it's only the single greatest thing that has come to Biology... McCain might be anti-science to an extent but he most definatly won't ban the teaching of evlution or the big bang theory.
  10. Price of gas when Bush went into office-$1.46 Price of gas now-$2.59 Gas was nearly $4.00 per gallon near me at one point. And you tell me it's not about oil... You sort of just confirmed his statement ;). Why would we have went into Iraq for this oil if we had so much gas anyways and it was cheap? The reason that gas went up so much is because of all the scary global events that made people want to jack the price up, don't know why but it's true. And also the people drilling the oil realised that there was such a dependence on oil that they could drive the price up and people would still buy it. The only reason it is going down is the sharp decline in demand.

  12. Penn State plays Ohio state tomorrow, gonna be a good one \ GO LIONS! \
  13. Communist regimes and Socialism in civil and built up countries is quite different. Not that I like socialism by any means, just letting you know that before you get torn to bits for saying that :-#.
  14. The reason there has been more terrorism during the Bush admin is that after the WTC attacks, people realised they could get quite popular by doing these things and get their message across. Another reason is this: Jihad wasn't declared on America until 1998, which was 2 years before Bush took office, so that is a major reason why there was less terrorism in the 90's and more under the bush administration. It is also nearly impossible to stop terrorism, so no need to blame it all on Bush. Who said he was going to agree with all scientists? I'm sure all agree and disagree with some. We all know the concept of freedom, but true freedom would lead to utter chaos. And to be quite honest with you, I'm quite tired of you city slicker super liberal European's bashing against our American Christian conservatives just because you don't like them. America has more freedom than most, maybe even all the world, hate all you want but I love it here.
  15. He might not have been the best president, but he has dealt with more stuff in his years as president than most can say, and he survived through it.
  16. lets see several senators and house represntatives writing ariticles and telling jornalists that if they didn't pass the bail out bush would declare marshal law didn't convince you? or this mr speaker i understand we are under martial law as declared by the speaker last night You obviously have no idea of how much manpower it would take to declare martial law all over the country, do you? and you think bush was ever good at numbers? his very own comander in afganistan said that he needed 400k troops to get the job done right, how any are there now? MAybe not the best, but trust me, he's not dumb enough to declare martial law, no matter how much you want him to.
  17. Pera's post sorta made me think, God could be seen as a dictator of sorts :?.

  19. Clemson Butthurt fan, hater, someone who says thing but doesn't back it up with facts, and I could go on and on.... :wall: Clearly Alabama should be #1 because they barely beat Ole Miss and Mississippi. Also the BCS poll just came out, I think Texas is #1. But w/e makes you sleep better at night I guess. No need to get mean. But yes, Texas should be #1.
  20. Disorder | Rating Paranoid: Low Schizoid: Moderate Schizotypal: Low Antisocial: Low Borderline: Low Histrionic: Low Narcissistic: Low Avoidant: Low Dependent: Low Obsessive-Compulsive: Low Wow, i'm rather boring :). better than my test was tbh.
  21. This. And I don't know how he (Obama) thinks he's gonna lower fuel costs yet lower emissions, that's laughable. The only way to lower emissions like he says is to tax the living hell out of fossil fuels so it makes alternatives cheaper. But that would make oil companies go under, which would be bad for the ecomomy and loss of lots of jobs, and we all want to fight for those poor working class families amirite?!?!?! Also I wouldn't attack McCain on his negative campaigning, although i must say his is worse, they both do it. there is a way to cut emmisions out completely. there was a car developed in california called the e2 it was entirly electricalally powered and several of the fule stations were converted to supply these cars with electricity instead of gas. it was actually cheaper than gas and had roughly the same mileadge. unfortunatly california got sued and every last e2 was recalled and destroyed but they'd be easy to make again. and this would actually creat jobs because these cars could be sold over seas and more factories could be made. and the fact is most american oil is imported. america only has 6(or 3 i can't remember) percent of the worlds oil reserves but uses 30% of the worlds oil suplies. as to nuclear it is a good alternative energy source but there is no way to effectivly deal with the raido active waste. what i'm more concerened about is that neither party is talking about funding programs that could reduce raido active waste. one example is a bacteria that was recently discovered that actually eats radio active wast and converts it into harmless elements but neither party is mentioning it Yes, what it runs on may be cheaper, but did you look at how much those cars cost to make, and how much they will sell for? It's alot. and don't we make electricity by burning coal? Fail. Also: McCain is actually a good bit more left than alot of republicans, and has been essentially battling people from his own party at times, but when you run for president you have to represent the party, so some of his stuff might not even be what he wants to do/will do. It seems pretty obvious that Obama will win the election, all i can say is it will be fun to watch him, in my opinion, fail. :
  22. This. PSU finally got the Michigan monkey off their back, destroyed them (although Mich played well in the first half, but we came back to show them who the real team was :) GO PENN STATE!
