1. Absolutely no need for Assault rifles in any way or form other than Police forces, ban them from public ownership completely. 2. IMO also ban high power handguns such as Magnum revolvers or Desert Eagles, keep defense simple and reliable such as Glock 9mm or Colt .45, no need to implode the persons head / chest etc. 1. I was thinking just for shooting ranges and stuff just for fun, no private ownership unless you're a gun collector or it's semi-automatic and you have a liscense for it. 2. Whether you shoot a guy with a .357 or a 9mm in the head he's still gonna die, no reason to exclude magnum's or desert eagle's imo. Yes, they're not manly or cool, but they are a good source of fun if you're at a target range, or hunting or something of the like. Remember, people kill people, GUNS DON'T.

Hey there, I was just talking to a friend today about guns, gun laws, etc. And I thought "what does TIF think?" : So here it is, what are your views on gun control and gun laws? What firearms are acceptable, which aren't? Etc. My views: ~ Automatics & Assault rifle's regulated fairly heavily. ~ Hand guns allowed, but permit required. ~ 21+ for handgun permit, same age limit maybe older for concealed weapon permit. ~ Concealed weapons allowed as long as you have a permit for the gun and for it being concealed, and it can't be visible to the public. ~Semi automatic hunting rifle and shotguns allowed, but permit requird (don't think it requires one atm, atleast in the US.) ~No handgun permit if you have a semi-serious offense on your criminal record. I probably have more, can't think of any more atm though. Basically I think that anyone (excluding past criminals) should be able to own a gun, shoot it (not at people ;) ), hunt with it, do whatever as long as it is not harming anyone and is for legal/fun purposes only. Discuss.

Yes, the McCain campaign strategy sucked, but they were in a bad spot, I can't really blame them for putting out those ads and such. Yeah, a lot of people believed in that stuff, but the same goes for the other side. THEY BOTH DO IT. And what's the difference between "stupid" and "they rely on ignorance and stupidity for votes, and encourage anti-intellectualism." -.- Because without those voters, the Republican party would be dead. Sure, there's some of it on both sides, but the Republican party thrives on it. Not only that, but they actively encourage this sort of behavior. "Oh that guy's not like you at all...he is snobbish and thinks you're all just a bunch of idiots. Vote for me, an average every day Joe!" Ronald Reagan was probably the biggest anti-intellectual president we have ever had, he even beats out Bush in my opinion. Here you go: Articulate? Yeah right... I think that the Democrats thrive on it just as much as the Rep's. All the Dem's do is say that all rich people are evil and that the poor are getting shafted and they have the poor people sold. Tbh I see the Rep's (excluding evangelicals) as realistic and Dem's as idealistic. It would be nice if we could all just hold hands and be happy in the world, but that will never happen, and nothing is as easy as both the candidates make them out to be.

Ok then, all Democrats are underinformed morons that vote based on feelings more than what the person represents. Is that true for all? No. Yes maybe there are a lot of Republicans that are "stupid", but there is a hell of a lot of democrats too. And yes, there are metal detectors in some schools in Philly, but they're in the really bad sections. The metal detectors is more of a reflection on the community more than the school, I know that's not your point but just saying. I'd say if you want to reform inner-city schools then you have to first deal with it on the community level, stop crime, clean up the city, etc. It's never an easy job, but it is managable. But seriously it seemed like whatever Obama said was Gospel, especially in the black communities, and they would vote for him if he said he was gonna nuke Isreal. Again not saying that doesn't go for both parties but I think it is more so on the Democratic side of the fence.

What? No, sorry. Just no. If you're in a science class, you will be taught evolution because it is pretty much proven. Sure, it is the "theory of evolution" but retroviral DNA is enough to make it ridiculous to deny it. I mean, I don't even know how it has got this far. There is literally a MASS of evidence for evolution. Evolution should be taught in science class along with gravity. Creationism.. I mean really? I have never, EVER, heard even one slightly compelling argument for it. I don't care if it causes conflict between parents and teachers. If you are in a science class you should be taught evolution because it is pretty much proven beyond any reasonable doubt. Creationism should be taught about in religious class. And remember, I'm not talking about cosmology/origin of life here, we're only discussing EVOLUTION. So what, you want it your way on the highway and screw others views? Their views should be respected, even if there is slim to no proof of Creationism, it doesn't mean that we should just not listen to what other's want. I'm not really a huge fan of either of them being taught in schools, not totally against it though. I think that they should teach evolution, as they already do...atleast in my school >_>, but not say that it is right or wrong (Which again is what my school does and it works out fine). I'm atheist's, but I don't think we shouldn't listen to religious people just because we think that they're wrong. They think that atheist's are wrong and they want creationism taught, that's where both sides are alike. And don't make some long post about how "but yeah creationism is wrong!" because that's not the point.

Won't happen. I wouldn't be so sure. That kind of thing is right up Obama's alley. If he actually governs of the ticket he ran on then he won't do it so we'll see though. Even if he doesn't try to do it would he veto it once it comes up? I'm conservative but I'm gonna have to disagree, no way in hell Obama would be that dumb.

What do you guys think is the best level to be for pk'ing? (Note: not including clan vs. clan wars on pvp). I would have to say anywhere from 100-105 is ideal seeing as you can still get some easy low-levels and still do pretty well against higher levels. What do you all think?
