Yes you need to raise cooking to 70 to complete the awowogeoi (sp?) sub-quest. Also it helps to have ice gloves.

The iron mine is called the dorgeshuun mines, sell back to mistag. You need to have completed Lost Tribe -.- Also you need a light source, its very dark there & harder to see when the rocks are full again. But if you can stand that, it is pretty fast.
