  1. this topic is back...surprise.

rebdragon, there really isnt a corollary between leg strength and upper body strength. it may be strange that someone would focus only on lower body though.

as an example, a friend of mine leg presses 1000lb but only benches 150-160 regularly.

  2. back from my 3 day ban lol.

yeah, can someone show me one of those empty forge maps where people practice no-scoping in a small room? i made a make-shift one i play on sometimes, but a better made one would be cool.

  3. Why would a working out topic need to be stickied? It is popular enough so it will stay on the first page for a while anyway.

And no thread is ever 'deleted', just moved to a mod only board. But I don't think this is the right place to discuss.

as the post has been deleted/moved without notice, this is our replacement. i think we have a right to discuss it, where else can we do it?

i made many posts in that topic and it was pretty much the only reason i came to tipit. a working out topic deserves a sticky more than "post pictures of your desktop!" or "post pictures of your pets!" it can benefit everyone on these boards whereas a picture of your dog really wont do [cabbage] for me.

The topic is in a non-public forum, it hasn't been deleted. I'm sure whichever moderator moved it had a good enough reason.

It could be a number of things, don't start bashing them when you don't know the motives behind it.

the only reason it could have been moved was a post rarex made, which could have simply been deleted. perhaps said mod has something against exercise.

  4. To Ouchy: It was deleted. =\ The few posts I made there aren't coming up in my recent posts. In addition, I followed a link to it, and it came up with "You are not authorized to read this forum."

It seems like a bit of a rash decision assuming it was deleted. There was only really one post in there that warranted Mod action.

i cant find it either, and it says "you are not authorized..." as well. which moderator made that brilliant move? deleting a whole thread because of one post...

  5. what the hell happened to the old one?

i cant find it and when i search for it nothing comes up.

edit: if it was deleted then just start over here. (or if some mod can sticky a working out topic?) if it deleted i think it was unnecessary. the last post rarex made may have been offensive, but its not grounds to delete a whole topic.

  6. 25 "reps" is really 2 sets and a half (considering 10 reps = 1 set). So you did 2.5 sets of Sitting Bicep Curls for ea arm

no, i did 3 sets of 25. reps is just short for repetitions, and there is no set number for reps. mean is that 10 reps does not always equal 1 set. a set can have as many reps as a person chooses.

where do you get these strange ideas from?

  7. In a few hundred games of Halo 3 on Live (main means of keeping in contact with some friends), I have encountered cheaters maybe 3 times... All 3 times, it was people forcing everyone else to lag (not just a bad connection, as made obvious by the source of the lag being perfectly functional when he should've been stuck in black screen). This has nothing to do with actually modifying the game or hacking it in any way, it's taking advantage of a connection to make people lag. No other form of cheating is readily available on matchmaking (though presumably it is possible, it is also decently-well-monitored), so, sorry, but the people you played against were simply better than you :|

thats called standby-ing. i think bungie monitors for it though.

when someone camps in the sword room you can use the windows that look into that room to kill them easily.

  8. this is happening in africa at the moment. enough of me, ill just post the article now.

Birth of an Ocean: The Evolution of Ethiopia's Afar Depression

    * Africa is splitting apart at the seamsliterally. From the southern tip of the Red Sea southward through Eritrea, Ethiopia, Kenya, Tanzania and Mozambique, the continent is coming unstitched along a zone called the East African Rift.

    * Like a shirtsleeve tearing under a bulging bicep, the earths crust rips apart as molten rock from deep down pushes up on the solid surface and stretches it thinsometimes to its breaking point. Each new slit widens as lava fills the gap from below.

    * This spectacular geologic unraveling, already under way for millions of years, will be complete when sal[bleep]er from the Red Sea floods the massive gash. Ten million years from now the entire rift may be submerged.

In northeastern Ethiopia one of the earths driest deserts is making way for a new ocean. This region of the African continent, known to geologists as the Afar Depression, is pulling apart in two directionsa process that is gradually thinning the earths rocky outer skin. The continental crust under Afar is a mere 20 kilometers from top to bottom, less than half its original thickness, and parts of the area are over 100 meters below sea level. Low hills to the east are all that stops the Red Sea from encroaching.

Such proximity to the planets scorching interior has transformed the region into a dynamic landscape of earthquakes, volcanoes and hydrothermal fieldsmaking Afar a veritable paradise for people, like me, eager to understand those processes. Yet few outsiders, scientists included, have ever set foot in Afar. Daytime temperatures soar to 48 degrees Celsius (118 degrees Fahrenheit) in the summer, and no rain falls for much of the year. But I knew I faced more than treacherous geology and climate. Nasty geopolitical strugglesnamely, war between Ethiopia and neighboring Eritreacombine with those natural hardships to make Afar utterly inhospitable.

Geologists predict another million years of the land stretching and sinking, combined with a massive deluge from the Red Sea, could put Afar at the bottom of a new ocean. For now, this incipient seabed is a desolate landscape where lava stifles vegetation, hellish heat makes acid boil, devilish formations emit toxic fumes, and the salty legacy of ancient Red Sea floods provides nomadic tribes of Afar with a precious export.

  9. it is impossible to mod or cheat in any way on halo 3 live.

have you considered the possibility that they were just better than you? ah, but of course, if they beat you then they must have been cheating.

  10.

im a swimmer, so im looking for endurance. i usually do upwards of 20 reps on most of my lifts, although they are medium weight.

ie sitting bicep curls, 25 reps each arm with the 25 lb dumbell.

Yes, what you're doing is toning lifts. High reps - low/med weight. I suppose Rarex and I should have been more clear that the reps we were talking about are muscle building lifts.

i know what kind of exercise im doing and i know what you were talking about. if you read what i wrote, i said i would just give an insight into how i lift because i felt like sharing.

  11. rarex what ethnicity are you? im thinking persian...(i only say this because i am persian also, and white rice is big in my culture).

people have been talking about the number of reps, so ill just give an insight into what i do.

  12. Not to bad for someone who had "2 months left". (That's how long the doctor said I had after my first surgery.)

i dont know how accurate it is when doctors say that. they told me aunt she had a few months left, but she lived 7 years...then slipped into a coma and died before she was even 30.

  13. Why would I lie? I'm starting to work out because I'm tired of being some skinny kid not to feel cool around people like you.

    i said your dad.

anyway, as long as someone is putting forth an effort to better themselves, then they have my respect. just saying not to set your sights so high.
