  1. 1) Disinsentivised looting for yourself - just kill others to get their loot and if you don't take food etc. risk being screwed over as soon as the 1k per camp limit is hit.

God forbid a high reward, high risk minigame in Wilderness carry the risk of other people PKing you. What's all that about?

His point is, this update has placed so much more of an emphasis upon just killing people for their loot, rather than going and trying to loot yourself. Less people will bother attending the camp at all, and more will just sit in low level wildy and pick off the few who do bother going to the camps. What makes it worse, is that it puts you into multicombat when you do loot.. the likelihood of you escaping now is just too low to bother.

Wasn't the point of warbands in the first place to bring back an interest in pking?

That's what lots of people have been saying.

(lets ignore the fact that it was a terrible way to attempt to do so for now)

  2. @Tempest: That's because players at level 138 carried 30+ brews (20k+ health) whereas Nex simply had 30k health to start with (iirc) - almost equal in strength, right? That's why constitution level is no longer taken into account. Players would have 24.75 levels from hp, Nex would have 750. If you apply that correction, it's 113 vs. 251 combat, which is really not that far off. Now the same holds for equipment versus levels. The new ratio is much more useful than the old (though still not as good as it could be).

Thanks for the explanation. I wasn't around for these changes so I don't know much about it.

  3. Not a huge fan of the 1/7h system for warbands, but the rest is ok.

SS/blood barrage nerf - seems reasonable, depending on how much it is. But if you can still barrage Graar (as someone posted) then there's basically no reason to complain. The lower damage to secondary targets might help for glacors actually.

Triskellion - seems useless. Level 50 hybrid is useless.

The only update that hurt barraging Graar is the one that leaves the ranging minion at ranging distance - and that's not a nerf, that's sensible.

I can't say I agree with the soul split and bloodfire barrage nerf; we work for those stats so don't we deserve something powerful?

Also, I think it'll be interesting seeing how beams go in warbands now. If they're successful would you have time to loot one, get your rewards and go to another providing it hasn't had it's 1k supplies looted already?

I have to say that I partly agree with your first point here. Getting 92 prayer certainly isn't an easy task. And to get 96 magic (or whatever that requirement is for the highest leveled barrage spell) is certainly not easy either. Both of those levels takes a lot of effort, time and money to gain. Powerful spells and prayers would be a good reward for all of this effort. And a suitable one as well. But SS and barrage have both been a little too much overpowered until now really. I don't think they were intended to make so many monsters such a piece of cake. Bosses should still be somewhat of a challenge even with 90+ prayers and spells. Which many of them weren't really, unless you equipped full bronze and got yourself a dagger to attack with out of the same material.

I'll still miss SS though. But it was a bit too good to be true. Time to go buy some more fishes in the GE before I go bossing again, I guess.

In my opinion, this update was implemented because of how easy it is to bloodfire barrage Bandos, and to a lesser extent sgw. Bandos is a mid level boss the way it is now, and 92 prayer and 94 mage are high levels, so should they not be superior over a mid level boss?

And because people were dw bloodfire barragging near enough every slayer task. Problem with Bandos GWD, normal mode is simply too easy, and hardmode is just stupidly difficult.

There's one thing that stands out, Dagganoth Kings are all level 156, yet Graardor and Zilyana 210 and can be near enough afked. It wasn't necessarily Bloodfire Barrage that needed to be nerfed, it's that the GWD bosses STILL need to be improved. Graar and Zilya can be comfortably disposed of in Nex Gear (probably less, honestly haven't tried) yet someone trying to solo tribid DKS will have a nightmare unless they have Nex or Ports gear.

tl;dr for slayer, bloodfire barrage needed to be fixed, for GWD it did not. GWD has its own inherent problems.

Was going to bring this up. I mean, Nex was lvl1001 when the player cap for combat was 138; now we're capped at 200 and she's 220, and the other god wars bosses are even weaker? Instead of nerfing our stuff for everywhere, why not make them tougher again?

  5. Ok. My thoughts on today's updates:

I'm happy with the warband nerf, and I'm disappointed with the warband nerf. I'm glad it was done, because now we're back to where you actually have to train the skill properly. I think it'll still be a valuable source of exp for me, as by the time I max everything else I'll have gotten plenty out of warbands even at 1 a day. I'm disappointed because I'd have loved this to happen earlier. I got 99 farming something like two years before warbands came out, and the easy exp from warbands has taken some credibility from it. I'm also disappoint because I wasn't playing at the time they were released, so I missed out on a fair bit of exp. Some people will have maxed their warband stats and they're the lucky few; everyone else will have to do it properly, and I'm happy I'll have to because I prefer to max that way. That means it'll require more money to max, which in turn means more pvm, something I look forward to.

On that note, I'm disappointed with the soul split and bloodfire barrage nerf. I was loving using these at Bandos and planned to get 99 mage there as soon as this week. I don't have that much motivation to do so now however, and don't see any rush, so it'll happen eventually, just not as soon as I was hoping.

  8. No, I would have preferred they changed it to this right after releasing it than waiting this long.

    Foresight from jagex.

    [bleep]ing 10/10 sir.

Not necessarily, they could have realised it in a week or so from release. Wishful thinking because yeah Jagex, I know, but still.

On another note, I'm bloodfire barraging Bandos right now with soulsplit, and healing still isn't really a problem, if you do need to heal the food drops cover it. Obviously a bit less exp than it was before but still not too bad.

  9. I'm disappointed it was this drastic.

    Fixed.

No, I would have preferred they changed it to this right after releasing it than waiting this long.

I don't mind them making it 1000 loot per camp, and on every world at the same time, but every 7 hours? That's terrible. That way they're forcing people play at ungodly hours sometimes if they want their 75 a day.

I'm glad they made it more dangerous too, it is in the wilderness after all.

The only reason I'm disappointed is that I wasn't playing at the time they came out, so I missed out on plenty of exp that I could have gotten. I'm glad I'll have to max by training those skills the proper way now, but there's already a large amount of people who haven't had to I would assume.
