  1. This is the first signature I have made in well over a year, so would really love to have some feedback and CC on ways to improve it. It was made on GIMP by the way. ~Duck
  2. Ooh never thought of that. I doubt it but it does ask as to why they didnt just do an open beta, server sizes? It there was a disclosure agreement it would be quite hard to regulate outside of RSOF forums and i reckon many, many videos would still appear on youtube, I wonder if jagex would try to get the videos taken down. Ultimately though I doubt there would be a agreement. ~Duck
  3. I don't know if people are still having problems accessing the forums but I got on fine first attempt, I'm an RS member but not f or pmod, I first logged in between 1-2pm GMT. Someones already said this once but if you good specs that doesn't mean you have a better chance of getting into the beta, if anything I would say you have a worst chance because Jagex are going to want to see how bad computers handle the game and see what improvements can be made. I would expects they will take very good computers, some averages ones and then a lot of bads ones and odd ones, of course I could be completely wrong :P ~Duck
  4. Why though, Mechscape is no longer... ~Duck Games don't always have a "set in stone name" until they're released so it could change again really, but I do understand where you're coming from. However, there really isn't any urgency because well, pretty much everyone knows what game is being referred to. Someone spoke a day to soon :P ~Duck
  5. Just note if your looking for a Gilded altar to use, dont't bother going to a certain world to find one you can use. Just look on the RSOF under events for someone who is letting players use theirs and go that world. ~Duck
  6. This is being worked on... amongst other things. Any feedback on the actual suggestion? ~Duck A couple of the things in there we have thought about, however for now, I can't really say one way or the other. Some of the suggestions are infeasable, for example showing parts of the guide on glassblowing, we can't do. Most of the other bits there we've thought about at one time or another but never really had a way to implement. However, I recently came up with a way of possibly sorting this so we'll see. For now I can't guarantee anything. :) At least there is hope... :P ~Duck
  7. Thanks for the reply, to be honest I'm not massively bothered either way. I just thought perhaps it would be a nice addition but I totally understand yours reasons for not wanting to do it. :) ~Duck
  8. I remember a few years ago that on this board there use to be a sticky with some of the bigger updates that the Tip.it crew were working on for the website. What happen to this sticky, I would love to see it return. ~Duck
  9. I did consider that hosting could be a problem, but I don't know much about it. This is being worked on... amongst other things. Any feedback on the actual suggestion? ~Duck
  10. Why though, Mechscape is no longer... ~Duck
  11. This is quite a large update suggestion, but I feel many players would find this very useful and this would give Tip.it something that other platinum fansites don't offer. So whats the idea? My Page First of all the name could be anything, perhaps a runescape themed name would be better. Basically this update would give users a customizable page on the website, specific to them. Lots of features would be developed that users could choose to be displayed on the page as well as existing features. The aim of this update would be to supply users with quick access to information needed for a users' day to day activity within runescape. Here are some general ideas I came up with: A player is training a certain skill, so they select the calculator specific to that skill to appear on their page, so every time they log on they are updated with their progress in that skill. The calculators could also be made more dynamic for this page, so that you could click on specific items displayed within the calculator and then a box appears with a quote from the skill guide relating to the item clicked i.e. You chose the crafting calculator to appear and then you click on vials, this then causes your page to show a quote from the crafting guide on glassblowing. Furthermore purely by selecting a calculator, links would be displayed to guides in the Archive of Wisdom relating to the skill. Along side this you could develop new features that track your xp progress to a specific target (i.e. a certain level), it would show the percentage of xp gained to the overall target. A player could choose to display in-game updates to runescape, if displayed it would provoke guides to display relating to the updates it applicable. Also to make it easier for a player, you could read the information about the update by just hovering your mouse over the link which would cause a temporary pop-up to display. Displays recent posts on their forum threads and comments on their blogs. A box that displays where the circus is this week and if Team Peng allows a box showing all penguin locations in world 60. This could be done for other D&Ds if applicable. A general idea that could be implemented to other areas of the website, the idea that I mentioned in the calculator idea, roughly all actions provoke links to be displayed relating to the action, this should be available to be toggled on and off though. I have only mentioned a few possibilities that could be done with this update, of course there are so many others ideas that could be implemented in to this and I will update this thread with any more updates I think of or people suggest. One thing that I think is really important with this suggestion is that it must be completely customizable, this includes features (obviously :P), placement and functions should be allowed to be toggled on and off. Ultimately though this might not be possible to implement into the website and I know I have only outlined a rough concept but I would like to hear feedback on this idea and see where it goes from here. ~Duck
  12. Simply what the title says, should we not change the Mechscape Discussion board to Stellar Dawn Discussion as it is confirmed this is the name of the new game and it will no longer be called Mechscape. ~Duck
  13. Did you decide to change the rules from people discussing it in the thread about tip.it being rated as a platinum fansite?
  14. Want to explain exactly what's bad about this? I've seen lots of people complain about this but no one has provided a reason what's wrong with it. You let Jagex dictate site decisions in return for concept art. There you go. Hmmm so someone after reading this thread actually went and made a account criticising Tip.it just to post unsupported crap. Are you that sad that you couldn't post it with your own account even though the admins could just match IP address. I don't see why everyone has to rant so much over this, what are the disadvantages? I'm not saying I agree with everything for instance I think we should be allowed to discuss leaks but the majority are beneficial if anything for instance instead of being encouraged to play WOW I now can find out how to get ripped in 4 weeks :P
  15. Those really aren't that big of a deal at all :| The benefits that come along with platinum might not be substantial but they're still nice and to be honest I think the best benefit of being ranked platinum is the purely the recognition of getting that rank.
  16. Although we knew it would probably come eventually we didn't know it was in development, so we do know something more :P and that also means it might come sooner than predicted.
  17. Cowman just curiuos, were you informed by Jagex about the promotion of rank? ~Duck
  18. Nice find! If you dont mind i've posted this on Future update on RSOF, i'll give credit to you once I repost, the whole forum is being spammed at the minute.
  19. Nah on the other thread it was established the reasons why we weren't platinum straight away, to do with adverts for games. But annoyingly the problems were overcome before they even posted the thread. Don't know if you remember this news article: ~Duck
  20. Some of you probably remember that back in April Jagex released a thread about supported fansites and they also rated fansites by plainum, gold, silver etc. Back then we were only rated as a Gold Fansite and many people were disappointed by this (You can read all about it here http://forum.tip.it/topic/262943-fansite-support-re-launch/ Mod Hohbein even posted on the thread), anyway though now we have been promoted :P to Platinum level, the best of the best. See for your self QFC: 103-104-6-60844459 ~Duck
  21. 11 mil will take much less time to raise.
  22. Will do :). If anyone is struggling with this weeks theme I think the first entry is quite a good example of what you can do if your not P2P or not a quester, think outside the box. Anyway I will try to cater for all players in future themes, maybe even in the future have 2 seperate theme for F2P and P2P.
  23. Congratulations to Elevenicy on winning the first COTW!! Also well done to Veyron27 and Pinkbullet3 who got 2nd and 3rd. Head to the original post to find out more about this weeks theme, Vikings!
  24. Nice idea, but not really my thing so I doubt I will participate, sorry. By the way add links to the code for the signatures!
