I figured that someone should elaborate a little more. I was able to connect to an online server, though I did have to try multiple times. When I tried to log in during the title screen, it said "could not connect to minecraft.net". I tried again and it worked. Then I attempted to join a server I found online, and after being stuck on "logging in..." for a minute or so, it said "took too long to log in" and disconnected me. Then I tried again, and it worked that time. So there you have it. Its like... 75% up.

Pepsi this might be old hat, but have you considered reformatting your hard drive? Its probably formatted in NTFS, but you could reformat it to FAT32. That's what PS3 requires, and I would imagine that xbox 360 might require the same. Protip: reformatting your hard drive destroys every file on it.
