Ive heard in desert treasure you need the ice gloves...doesn't this mean 50 mining is required to complete the quest? please can someone confirm this

hi , yey my first post!! but anyway...down to buisness...ive got an initiate pure and hes doing very well if i do say so myself O:) , anyway , i need an outfit that will give me as much str bonus as possible..and on your max hit calc i saw "dark gloves" , wat are these? ive got a suspicion that they may be those new silence gloves from the hunter skill , please post here ifyou know :)
