I'm trying to learn spanish and maybe German (German sounds so awesome) and I'm sure I'll have people laughing at my accent in those languages.
you can be more than 10000% sure they will :P . so far i've only seen one american talk spanish well in my whole life (maybe due to the fact that i dont see americans very often around here but w.e :? ) he was a U.S ambassador or senator i dont remember.
