  1. I currently have:warrior (i), seer (i), archer (i) and about ten million gp to use.

You are completely broke, since by selling all the other stuff you mentioned will not even get you to 20m, which is roughly what a proper power armor set (subj/arma/bandos) costs.

I suggest you restart the gp duping machine MtK immediately and you should do ALL gp producing dailies, because currently, you are worse than poor. Before you get a nex set & T9 weapons, you can forget about making money through bossing; when you save up enough for a gwd power set, you should be able to do some weak (and not as profitable) bosses, such as glacors, gwd & qbd, which should take care of your money problems for the time.

By the way, as Q suggested, you should focus on ports. After a month or a few, you will have PoP armor, which should by then suffice for tanking normal bosses, like nex or kk.

  2. Ever seen the Total War games? :D

Total War series do allow large scale battles, but you do not have individual units (as in, you cannot control individual units).

Which is a big letdown; but that allows to have a real 3D world instead of a pseudo 3D OR isometric.

As a long time RTS fan, I am familiar with games that have MP games where 2k units / player are the norm (typical games are 1v1, 2v2 or 8 player FFA). And yes, you can control individual units.

The downside is that ever since I played that series (and a spin-off series), every other RTS only qualifies as just some tactical village wars with no long-term strategy implications. But since I saw 'Blitzkrieg', which is a 100% pure RTT (real time tactics) game classified as RTS, I do understand why those games are classed as RTS as well.

And due to various limitations imposed in TW series, I could rename it to "Town Wars" at best. Not Total War.

  3. Just think by 2014 it might actually work.

They still have changes for EoC in mind, and look how much time has passed since the release of the 'final, release-ready EoC version which might only need very minor alterations in the future'. We had to relearn combat several times since then.

So, seeing as people will be forced beta testers since 2013-07-22, you have a good point. By 2014 it might be release-ready.

I hope they don't break the Java version in the mean time...

If people will not be big on being beta testers, they will be forced to remove the java client support to get RS3 release ready by 2014...

  4. I asked him why so many specials ignore defensive abilities - he said that it was to 'encourage more ability variation' or something like that. Which is weird because it discourages defensive abilities.

What he meant to say is 'defensive abilities were designed to be used on normal monsters'. Plus, after EoC beta finished, that was exactly how they worked – you would use Resonance just before Nomad's (or any other boss) high damaging hit, the effect icon would appear, you would take damage and die, then respawn and then resonance would time out as if nothing had happened. Quite a while later they 'fixed' it by adding the ability to soak damage (just not heal the player). However, they always intended for Barricade/Immortality/Resonance AND other taken damage reducing abilities to be prohibited during boss encounters.

which simply makes them useless where they matter most; so why bother putting them into the game at all?

As I said, from the design perspective they are perfectly good abilities, but they are OP at bosses. If you can completely block 2k-7k damaging hits for a certain amount of time, that is the only ability you will be using instead of risking everything for a 1-2 hit KO just to deal a little more damage (since you can freely deal damage while immune).

That is exactly what the 'ability variation' comment meant.

  6. "hella" Very British.

And again magic weaponry & armour will be the most expensive :D & :(

    Inb4 virtus weapons crash to 20m (x2).

But that will not happen, because there are more soul split, aura of penance/vamp, asc & royal xbow/bolt, immortality/barricade nerfs upcoming a few weeks after Vorago.

  7. 2. With the warbands update, is it 3 per day starting from 24 hours after your last warband, or does it reset daily at a certain time still?

    There are two main limits:

    1. (absolute) 75 crates per day, regardless how you obtain them. If you try to get more, you will receive a message stating you cannot loot/pick up.

    2. 3 camps, counted per arbitrary period of time. This limit is only reset after you loot 3 camps.

All limits are reset on 0:00 server time.

Here's an explanation on the second limit:

Say, that you have NEVER looted any warband camps before (either haven't tried them or pked/trust traded exclusively).

Then, if you loot two camps on a day, the limit will not be reset and you will only be able to loot a single camp next day. YOU MUST loot that camp, because no matter how long you wait, the limit will not be reset. If you loot a single camp one day and then wait 1 month, you will only be able to loot 2 camps the next time you log in.

When you hit three camps (per one or several days), the limit will be reset on 0:00 server time and you will be able to loot 3 camps the next day.

  8. Here is what I have experienced doing a glacor run:

    1. DW helps really much, staff is just too slow and that highly decreases effectiveness of BfB.

    2. Kiting makes a notable difference in damage received.

    3. Soul split does not work for me on glacors/glacytes. By 'does not work' I mean that there is a SS icon overhead, but while dealing damage no animation is shown. LPs also do not increase (stay the same). On the other hand, another player with full virtus used SS just fine (icon, animation, healing).

    4. If you do not attack enduring asap, you receive a ~2-3x damage penalty, which makes killing glacytes a real pain, since you must avoid BfB because it deals too much damage to other glacytes.

  9. Isn't that quite stupid? That the best way to play rs is to not play it?

And even worse: that for a game so build around skilling skilling itself is not the means to become better - but only the verification that you have become stronger? Really RS3 should fix this and make sure that skills themself are good (and quite frankly not only at high levels).

Well, from an efficiency standpoint it is better not to play a game and only play when you can maximize xp/h or gp/h.

On the other hand, if you manage to have fun in absolutely every part of RS...

  10. You don't really have the stats (apart from 99 magic) to survive at any of the major bosses such as GWD and KK. However, even with 99 magic, I don't think you'll be able to blood barrage and soulsplit bandos in void or 5M gear.

What I would suggest is Tormented Demons. Get yourself a chaotic staff and another melee weapon and take them on in void. They're incredibly fast money and can be done without being maxed combat.

The fact that he's 77 prayer doesn't help either.

You should really focus on skills that will help you make money. If you want to PVM for your cash then get to AT LEAST 92 prayer, if not 95.

From my POV, the only skills that will help you make money are:

    99 all combat + summoning

    95 pray

    96 herblore

The problem is, summoning, prayer and herblore are pretty much money sinks.

Aside from the mentioned skills, fishing, mining and hunting do make money, but at such slow rates that you are better away doing something else. Farming is a joke ever since warbanders decided they can stay @ 40 mining forever and all took herblore.

The correct course of action is to take a month off RS:

    1. Enable the gp duping making machine named MtK

    2. Only log in for PoP, stack up trade resources

When you come back, collect duped gp and craft stuff from stacked trade goods.

Then, train the aforementioned skills. When you have them, you can make money and buy the rest of the skills, including fishing, mining and hunting.

  11. Doesn't really look like a new bank system, no new organizational features or anything.

It's just a re skin right now and I'm totally fine with that. The more interface consistency the better.

I still have confidence that that there will be more bank functionality on RS3 release.

side note: I'd love to see a loadout system within the baking interface. Something that lets you withdraw certain items with the click of a button. ex: 14 air orbs and 14 battlestaves while crafting or 5 torstol seeds, 50 laws, 50 astrals, 50 nats, ectophial, explorers ring, greenfinger aura, magic secateurs, mud battlestaff for farm runs. Basically anything you can fit into a 28 slot inverntory loadout. I give JaGex and anyone there full access to this idea :)

Looking at the recent 'quality' updates you can be sure that this will never happen.

Or it will be buggy as hell to the point where people will regret having something they cannot use.

  12. most I can do is 1, 2 at best a few times a week perhaps.

3 warbands per round (logging on once a day) is perfectly doable on current warband state. Without buying crates, of course.

Oh wait... JaGeX still hasn't fixed 'you have already looted everything you can for today' bug. Even then, you can resort to pking the remaining crates, since only looting from camps is affected by this bug.

  13. The best solution would be to get a new influx of players into rs.. THat will bring new players who want to get -say- max ba rating.

New players will find BA deserted. Honestly, nobody ever goes there. Granite body? Penance gloves/other stuff? All worthless; the random rewards are also a waste of time better put elsewhere.

After trying a few times, they will not be back either.

  14. those minigames should be removed from the game and rewards be placed elsewhere.

In fact, that is a good idea. Anything JaGeX can come up with (aside from large xp/gp per hour ratios) will revive content for max 2 weeks, after which it will be nerfed and the minigame will be more dead than it was before (if it was not completely dead yet, like Games Room, for example).
