  1. Obviously Abstinence rings don't really work, (Jessica Simpson lost hers on tour with Ricky Martin lol) So if I did ever have a child I would guarantee their virginity by spending $15 a month for their WoW membership =)

  2. I'm not sure about in the US but in the UK in bars/pubs/clubs it's illegal to serve people who are already drunk

It's the same in Canada, I think. I've never had to worry about it, though. To be honest, I'm kind of afraid to drink.

i think the cultural difference needs to be explained, you can drink and smoke at 18, however most pubs close around 12pm (with a few exceptions) and some clubs kick out at 6am.

Unlike Australia which has to show a sign saying "we serve drinks not drunks" most places have a pretty relaxed attitude of 'if your able to count out £3.30 for a pint and walk away with-out spilling it' you'll be alright.

But unknown is right that a bar manager can be fined if one of his patrons dies on the premises.

  3. over 9000.

If someone asked you the OP's question in real life, would you answer as such? That's the question ya'll need to ask yourselves before you post.

  4. Your arguement assumes that life exists on our 'wavelenth', life as we know it maybe completely un-exlpaneable in terms of human exerience.

The classic paradox is; Is the colour you perceive as green the same as how I perceive the colour green.

And so how would an alien perceive the same texture if all matter is energy existing at different frequencies.

The closest metaphore is of an FM radio station, one must be 'tuned in' to the correct frequency to receive a transmission.

The visible light (red, yellow, blue) is a very small fraction of the electro-magnetic spectrum, beyond what we can perceive or measure, is much larger.

Since the Universe is so big, even if there were more lifeforms on other planets out there, these 'islands of life' in the Universe would be SO far apart that they will never be able to know each other exist and share the same Universe. Also, as you said, the time frame for radio emitters and receivers are so infinitesimal that even if they did establish contact by chance, that intelligent race would be wiped out soon after.

If you were traveling around standard orbit speed(10,000 KPH) it would take roughly 12 BILLLION years to cross the galaxy. Almost the age of the Universe.

If however you were traveling at a quarter of the speed of light it would only take 400,000 years. Which is nothing on the evolutionary scale.

If you were sending out messages at light speed it would only take 100,000 years to cross the galaxy.

We could probably make it to the next star in 60 years, just using an Earth based Laser, a Luna Solar Farm and a hell of a massive mirror. It would take 4 years of constant acceleration followed by the use of some kind of breaking system, potentially a magnetic parachute(if Cryostasis was used) or small Ion Thrusters slowing the vessel down for many years, so that it coasting into the system.

  5.

There was really no need for that. Secondly, many religions think they are the 'chosen ones' - it isn't just Judaism, Muslims and Christians both consider their religions to be the only true religion and that followers of other faiths will suffer for not believing.

I do have sympathy for the Palestinians and I've stated it numerous times but you don't need to be anti-semitic to have empathy for their plight. People with extreme views like yours (on both sides of the debate) don't help to solve the problem of Israel & Palestine. Your hate breeds hate.

To become a 'chosen' Christian one simply becomes baptised, Muslims openly accept all three Abrahamic religions as as they are considered People of the book, ahl al-kitab.

In contrast however according to Rabbi Jeffrey Wolfson Goldwasser, a jewish person is defined through the maternal line ...

"according to traditional Jewish law, if 1) your grandmother's conversion was conducted under a valid rabbinic authority, and 2) your mother was born after your grandmother's conversion." you are legally a jew.

And combined with Binyamin Netanyahu's bald statement of fact that (the territory formerly known as Palestine) is and always will be a Jewish state, and that All jews have the "right of return"epitomises this very problem, thinly disguised Israeli nationalism combined with fundamentalist Christians honour-bound to obey Genesis 12:3, creates an unholy alliance that effectively blanks any dissenting opinion in the west, via the legal system and mass media.

Anything that challenges the perceived order of things is marginalised as either anti-semetic or an extreme view.

As an academic exercise; if you had a tank parked in your garden, would you blame the tank for crushing your flowers, or the army of the nation that ordered it there? Turning the Gaza strip into the Warsaw ghetto is not going to make Isreal safer but reinforce the negative stereotyping, that you feel there is no need for.

I totally agree with you (and Yoda) that hate breeds hate, and the bullied becoming the bullies.

Constructively I think that the dubiously titled 'two state' solution, is the best way forward; and more directly simply by paying back Palestinian Tax money and returning some the hundreds of prisoners held by Isreal.

    To Powman3: not a troll

  6. Personally the idea of a 89 year old racist going into a hollahoax museum and shooting the African-American guard is pretty funny (yes I realise that the taking of an life is both a sin and a crime)

But, maybe calling yourself God's chosen people is putting people on a bit of a pedestal and you should be less surprised (by now) when certain groups resent this superior attitude or try to knock you off that pedestal.

To stan18: Yes what happened in the 40's was terrible but there is still evidence to say that the numbers were exaggerated, for political leverage and I think you'll find the continued genocide of the Palestinian people more racist than trying to have an honest debate about historical events.

  7. Hmmm ... Crandor maybe ? AFAIK it was deserted because of the dragon ... most of us managed to slay ... now when the dragon is not under the island ... they could repopulate it :)

    Nice idea!

Crandor usually has a load of people on it fighting mosses in f2p.... also as a high lvl miner the the random addy rocks are v good

  8. I agree with Flsed,

SoS is a great addition for F2P offering a good mixed level dungeon with intresting design and useful monsters for training (ankokus, etc.)

But constant "If some-one tells you they can make you a P-mod do you:...." is fairly irritating after the Nth time you've passed through ANY doors,

Personally being able to turn these off at the doomsayer would be a great boon, new update perhaps Jagex??

  9. If you want to take a small risk, you can mine at the level 9 wilderness coal mine. It's full of skeletons and you might run into a revenant, but it's usually empty and Edgeville is the closest bank.

Per minuite per xp this is the best mine in the game, (after pvp dwarf mine=) if you 3 tiem, the best a pk'er will get is some coal that he's not going to pick up, so its not worth him following you from lumbridge...

As a f2p'er the best you can do, THAT HASN'T BEEN DONE BEFORE is fight wizards (lvl6) in the wizards tower as their robes are worth at least 700gp* (price check please) because people always need then for mage training imo.

The best p2p mining spot (in terms of bank to rock)(post 60th lvl) is yanile to south of Port Kazard, (for iron ore) but some people prefer the dwarf mines, as I can get in the carts to Keldagrim and use the (excelLent) blast furnace...

As a f2p'er there are no #GET RICH QUICK# scemes that actually work as everyone else has alreay done what you'd like to do, cf: normal log w/c'ing or rune ess mining.

If your willing to put in 2 1/2 hours you can make 1000 steel bars at 9 bars a time in Al-kharid that willl make you 35% profit if you buy your ores.(please see my earier posts for the math(s) of this) (this is how I made 1.3million to buy my saradomin trimed rune =)

    Also gl & hf

    Peace and love

  10. highlanders +1 I think that's the most cogent way of forming that thought.

Smithing its self was the oldest skill, yes new and flasher skills have taken its place but back in the 'old skool days' smithing was a mark of a player above the usual.

I'm a f2p'er and the only way i can make good money is by smithing steel bars that I buy as ores and then sell to the G.E, (that's why I've been able to afford my Saradomin (T) before it x4 in value =)

I've noticed a whole sub-section of experienced f2p'ers leave because of the killing of player to player trades, but if this the only way to get rid of RWT's then that's the trade off, unfortunately mining is a 'grind' skill, but high value, ores and gems have always held their value, coal and iron ore are the few things that haven't drastically changed in price since (to the best of my reckoning) 2004 .

In conclusion, smithing isn't usueless, as an idea the ablility to make your own rune armour and fight peeps in f2p is quite powerfull, its the totally self-sufficient warrior archetype, being able to rely totally on ones own talents.

I'm only able to afford sporadic membership to Runescape so I try to transfer as much wealth as possible back to f2p when im forced to "slum it."
