Runescape... duh... and others, obviously, as those with any brains can tell from my RS name...
  1. When an ibis catches a fish for you, you gain 10% of the xp you would get for catching it yourself; i.e. a tuna gives you 8 xp, while a swordfish gives you 10. I haven't tried this with other familiars, since I can't yet use a lobster and don't have any crabs, but if anyone else wants to verify with other familiars?...
  2. I finished both completely... I loooove the armor when mining, and when smithing bolts or arrowheads. The gloves are nice for the tele - wanted the easy access to the best slayer master, but I don't use them at all anymore since Sumona came on the scene, lol. I like her assignments more than Duradel's.
  3. My first post, heh... hello, all! I, too, smirk in disdain at the feeble-minded pures who feel compelled to chase after and kill other people's characters in order to make a Runescape living. I suppose it can be profitable, if you are always successful. Profitable monetarily, at any rate. But I'd be willing to bet that experience is much easier to come by through fighting NPC's... most of them don't have anything comparable to rune armor boosting their melee and range defense, for instance... At any rate, I am perfectly happy to be what I am... 1618 total skill, 93 combat - a 17.39785 ratio. I focus mostly on the "production" skills: Smithing, Crafting, Herblore, Fletching, Farming, Cooking. My "gathering" skills (Mining, Fishing, Woodcutting, Thieving, and Runecrafting - something so simple could not possibly be called a "production" skill in my book) are, other than Mining, somewhat lower in comparison. In combat, I am quite comfortable with melee (almost dead-even ATK, STR, and DEF), range, and mage, with a decent 65 Prayer to boot. Now, I realize that this might not be the best format for PK-ing, but I'd hate to be a melee pure assigned to kill 100+ blue dragons... mage and range ROCK for that! And, personally, any character with less than 43 prayer deserves to get trashed by the various higher-level melee-using NPCs. Other than mages, base magic defense is pitiful for pures... a higher magic level provides increased magic defense no matter what combat style you use. And then there's the little matter of *ahem* "getting around". Other than the new "Home Port" spell, you need at least a little magic training to travel quickly to Varrock, Ardougne, Falador, and Camelot... more still for the various other locales. That leaves the non-mage, pure character with... the four Glory teleports, Duel Arena, Castle Wars, Ectophial, Burthorpe (and the new Games teleport), and Rellekka. I hope they train Agility, because they must have to run a while to get from these mostly borderland spots to the Runescape interior. I guess that's about it for now... my the Force be with you! - JediGrant
