u can get magic exps but it is not requaired and u get no cash. i just ach my tokens

i wood say spend 23m on ore for smithing. u wood want 21k mith and 42k coal and with ur magic on 43 or higher u can super heat them. after u hav made 21k mith u should be about lv 70 smithing and them u can start on the addy ores and start to make an even cash flow or a profit

i dunno about members but as a f2p i say woodcutting yew but only if ur lvl 70 or higher and smithing steel bars as u can easyly sell them for 600-650 ea

i hav never had a mine but i hav HAD it up to the sky with the old man and the box

i hav had easly 14 random events and 5 of them hav been the wise old man with that box

The best place to smelt in the member worlds is Port Phasmatys. It is even closer than Al-kharid. Note that you need to have completed the Ghost Ahoy quest to gain access to this city, even though you can entering the city if you have 2 ecto-tokens. You should also wear an Amulet of Ghostspeak to make the banking process easier.
