  1. Congratulations on this and all your amazing achievements - 10/10 , of course. However I was slightly confused by this:

I have been on Ellebreyals for the past year. There's a reason it took me 347 days of slaying to go from 1-99, and it's not because I only get 3k xp an hour. It's because I've only played 3-4 hours a day for past year. Some days I play more, some days less, some days not at all. If I really played 20 hours a day I would have gotten 99 at the beginning of October. If I played 15 hours a day it would have been at the end of October. 10 hours a day would have been end of November. 5 hours a day would have been March. You get the idea. It's now the end of July :P.

1-99 slayer is of course 13.034m xp. Which over 347 days is an average of 37, 561 xp a day. If you only get 3k an hour, that is over 12 hours playing on average per day, in addition to the time it takes to get 99 construction and magic.

I realise that you got some xp from penguins and genies, but it was less than 10% of the slayer xp you gained. So did you get more xp an hour than you thought, or did you just play more than you thought? Or perhaps I've just missed something here.

Sorry if that sounds picky, I'm not trying to have a go at you or anything, just curious about those figures. Congrats again.

  2. I've been trying to buy a White Party Hat for weeks. I've had an offer at max for all that time. I've even had simultaneous offers on the 4 phats below White so that I could trade them for it. A couple of times I have even been at the GE when the prices were updated, so I couldn't have upped my offer to the new max any quicker. Yet I still did not get one. I have given up now.

  3. Yes I just noticed that too! I guess this is the closest I am going to get to a Spanish RS, so I might as well use it.

Just give it another few months

Is that just optimism or do you know something I don't? I hope you're right anyway. A Spanish version is long overdue.

Maybe Latinos aren't a big demo for them? Here in Southern California a lot of Mexicans play rs, me being one of them. Remember, they're a company, they aren't gonna waste time making a spanish version of RS if no Latinos are gonna play.

I would have thought that 300 million Spanish speaking people in Latin America and 47 million people in Spain would be a bigger demographic than 190 million Brazilians and 10 million Portuguese.

Whenever I go on the French servers, most of the people on there either don't speak French or are Canadian and speak English as well. So I'm sure a Spanish version would be more popular than that, at least.

You'll have to look up the dates, it's far too long ago for me to remember. :P

  5. Thanks for the reply mate. I guess the game is even more dead then I thought. I hope they do release it to the public again, at least that will bring some life into the game, even though it won't be the same.

However this is Jagex we are talking about so I won't hold my breath. In the meantime, if anyone can tell me a good way of making some cash so I can buy a set of rune, please let me know.

  6. Hello,

I have not played RSC since RS2 came out, though not through lack of desire. I have tried to play on several occasions but it is not much fun without armour and when I have tried to earn money I have always been thwarted by the abundance of autoers.

I have tried again this week but now it seems that although there are less autoers, there are hardly any genuine players! Therefore if I gather some resources, there is no-one to trade with in order to get that precious Rune!

So my question is; is it possible to get started again on RSC if you have no items? I have reasonable skills for someone who has not played in 5 years (1300ish total) but if the game is as dead as it looks, am I just wasting my time? Or if not, what is the best way of earning my armour back?

    Many Thanks

  7. Well they have now released FunOrb in Portuguese. I guess they will now concentrate on RuneScape.

I hope the French version of RS comes soon. I have not played since the Dec 10th updates last year. However if they released a French or perhaps even a Spanish version I would consider playing again. At least then it wouldn't feel like a complete waste of time.

  8.

Alching is still the best way of training magic.

Well, it is if you enjoy losing money and being bored. ;)

65k xp an hour whilst I watch TV and less than 2gp per xp has always seemed pretty good to me. Got a better way? :P

Lots of ways. I got up to 94 alching pretty much nothing except monster drops.

In general, I'd rather superheat ores or mage monsters with decent drops. I almost never waste money on training when it's not necessary.

Yes I have alched all my drops too, which got me very little magic xp. Superheating ores is useful if you intend to smith the bars. But as I don't, it just proves to be more costly and more time consuming than alching.

I'd rather get 65k an hour not even looking at the screen than get 40k click training and hoping for a lucky drop. Just because alching bores you, doesn't mean it bores me. In fact, maging metal dragons bores the hell out of me.

You could alch all the way to 99 and lose 15-20m. Not exactly a lot of money, is it? With the time saved you could easily make that back. There is no guarantee that you will get that visage or whatever it is you're hoping for anyway.

Alching is my method of choice and always will be, just like hundreds of thousands of other players.

  9. Just because yew longbows are 100 gp each more on the exchange then they were on the forums does not mean alching is dead. For a start, natures are 50gp each less, so in real terms you are only losing 50gp more per alch.

Not only that but there are lots of other things you can alch (which are plentiful) like magic longbows or green dragonhide bodies. I've been alching green dragonhide bodies lately and I lose less per alch than I did alching yew longbows before the GE came out!

Of course, a huge amount of people alch the bows they fletch. I personally alched every bow I made on the way to 99 fletching. People will still continue to do this, thus bringing gp into the game.

Jagex might lower the floor price anyway. If they even lower it by 50gp you'll be making the same loss per alch as you did before.

Alching is still the best way of training magic.

  10. Whenever I am boss killing I always do the following before every fight:

Brew to 115hp or close, super restore, super att/str pot. In that order. When you are fighting the monster(s) you will eat emergency food if necessary, you won't be potting. So mixes are worthless for boss killing.

As for slayer, I just use guthans.

2 mixes gives you 24hp and 4 doses of potion.

1 four dose potion and shark gives you 20hp and 4 doses of potion.

Is it really worth the hassle of getting the caviar and making the mixes to save you 4hp when you're doing a slayer task, which is safe as safe can be and you've got guthans anyway?

  11. The last time I looked, there were quite a few countries in the world. Perhaps you'd like to narrow down which one you're talking about? It's just a guess but I think there may be "outsiders" who aren't from your country here. :o
