  1. Might I suggest doing the quest "Between a Rock" it give 5k exp mining and gives you access to what I like to call the, "Gold Fields" and very easy banking. When you have one space left take off your gold helm, it telly's you out. Then run a short distance and speak with the ferryman. He will bank your gold ore for a small cost and you can run back, put your helm on and get shot by a cannon back into the "gold fields." Fastest way I know to get gold ore. Be sure to do the "Family Crest" quest and get the enchanted gloves for Goldsmithing gloves. Wear 'em while you smelt your gold ores get 56.25 exp versus 22.5 exp. (I carry my ecto, so it makes it easy to smith what I just mined.) Hope this helps. Ciao BTW - Where the Ring of Charos so you don't have to pay the "other" ferryman who takes you across to the river. Then you won't have to carry any gp's.
  2. Are you the "Questing" type? I would suggest the easy "The Lost Tribe" quest it takes place under the Lumby castle. (It gives 3k in exp for doing quest and acess to the Dorgeshuun mines and more.) Once it's completed you can mine iron ore (fast) and sell it a couple of feet away to Mistag or the bank in Lumby Castle which is just a few feet further away. Yeah, I know iron is 15 or more exp less then granite, but I just hate doing something for nothing. (No offense power miners.) There is also the quest "Between a Rock" it give 5k exp mining and gives you access what I like to call the, "Gold fields." Gold gives you a constant 65 exp vs granite 50-60-75. You can have the ferryman bank 'em for you for a small fee. (Then use your enchanted Goldsmithing gloves from the "Family Crest" quest and smelt all your gold ores into bars you get 56.25 exp versus 22.5 exp.) Anyway you look at it, there are alternatives, to the "oh so [garden tool] hum" fun of mining. -.- Ciao! BTW - You might also work on the Varrok Achievement Diary to get Varrok (mining) armor. (Which gives you the chance of 2 ores vs 1.)
  3. There is another way of getting the lyre just kill the village citizens, so you get 'em as drops. My most successful kills are a blonde female (Lensa?) who is in a hut a few doors down to the left just after you enter the gate. After you have 4 or 5 lyres, take them and the same number of raw bass and while wear your Ring of Charos talk to Fossegrimen. "Tell her the _bass_ are just small sharks." Of course, you could actually offer her a raw shark, but to keep several lyre in stock this is cheaper. (I understand you can use raw sea turtle for 3 teleports or raw manta ray for 4 teleports.) Good hunting! Ciao
  4. So.... When I was there (monkey atoll) they were just out of stock. Hmmm... Well, I'll be a monkey's uncle ::coughs:: aunt. Thanks ever so much for increasing my understanding of all things Runescape! \ Ciao
  5. Okay I haven't been playing for a bit and right now I'm getting use to the changes, but I'm stumped by this one. The exchange say's "There's no such item" when I ask for monkey bars and nuts. Of course, I tried the Ape Atoll, but no luck there. (It seems like I remember climbing down in pit for the nuts the first time.) Anyway, now what do I do? I can't see trying to grow a Spirit tree without it. So does anyone have an alternative? :wall: Your help and time are most appreciated.
  6. I've been off the game most of this year (as a member) I've tried to read on the forums, but I didn't see or missed seeing a guide on how to use say, "The Exchange" or how "Lending" works. (Even though I understand the reason why it happened.) It's all just a little daunting coming back when so many things are different: So could someone please point me in the right direction or give me a general overview of the Exchange and/or Lending. For that matter is there anything I haven't notice yet... such as PK'ing changes etc., etc.. Thanks ever so! BTW --- Does anyone else think RS is really (quiet) now? Maybe too quiet?
  7. I'm sure someone has it listed somewhere, but I'm in a bit of a rush. So could someone plz explain when the best time to fix say, "Veracs" armor and at which percentage of damage (75/50/25) should I attempt repairs? (Does the price you pay depend on the amount of damage?) Also, where can I get said armor repaired? It seems like I remember someone mentioning, "Bob" in Lumby, for repairs, but are there other options? TA
  8. If it were me, I would take an axe and tinderbox... And go to the river bank in Barbarian Village, there are trees right next to the fishing spots and yes I know this takes up two precious spaces, but it saves time _IMO_ then running to the everlasting fires. (I always fill every available space with fish then drop one and cut a log. You can always retrieve the dropped fish to cook.) Depending on which skill you are trying to improve, I would also either: bank my cooked fish in Edgeville or run 'em to Varrok to sell or if you're power fishing or cooking... I guess you could just fish, cook and drop. Good Luck!
  9. Not sure how others do it, but before I start playing I will open my browser (FF) twice. The first one I open a window for market prices, then another tab for skills, and lastly forums. Then I resize the window so I can read it, but still see what's happening on RS. Then I click on minimized browser window and max it then log into RS. Then I have my bases covered, so I can check prices quickly, or figure out what my plants are gonna need to be watched or to check on something in forums. My pc definitely gets a work out. :D I had some new aka noob player call me a "scammer" because I said I just checked the price while we were talking... Ah the very young and dumb! Anyway, I'd like to hear how others set themselves up. (Besides gluing their eyes to the screen.) Besides, I'd go nutz if I had to just sit and watch my fish cook or my bows cut or even me doing deep knee bend to fish. ::Let's hear it for multi-tasking::
  10. I don't know if anyone mentioned this, but you need "Ghost Speak" amy so you can talk to priest so he can make space for more bones. Can someone plz tell me how the prayer works in construction: What lvl construction it takes and if there is anything special you need to do? TIA
