  1. As for metamorphosis - It also saves on rune costs as it's free casts. When barraging that matters..

20 sec active / 60 sec cooldown = 25% less runes used, and that's ignoring the damage boost even.

Using a staff and using 3.6 second intervals on a staff (6 ticks) it saves the runes for 25% of casts.

For 2h that is 500 blood runes saved, for dual wield .

Using a wand (2.4 sec, 1500 casts an hour) and book (2.4sec, 1500 casts an hour) that means 3000 casts an hour for 6000 blood runes used, of which 1500 blood runes are saved.

This is a significant cost impact on training...

I was just wondering if anyone had over 1b exp in 2013 - turns out there is.

  3. Perhaps relevant info:

In DG the lvl 198 NPC's used to give 49-50 xp per kill. It's now been adjusted to 3k+, to be in line with the lvl scale.

    Quite old news...

Can't have been all that long - and I've not seen it discussed here, in update or in patch notes....

I mentioned it here as this would mean DG would give higher combat exp, thus perhaps influencing calcs etc too.

  4. Due to being in a rush this morning I missed the chance to upload a cool picture here.

I got the 200 million gp from SOF.

I will quote the internet here:

    "Pics or didn't happen"

I knew this was gonna happen :(

I was late for work already (due to trying to make sure I got my daily DG challenge done), rushed to burthorpe to hand it in, used the spin... and closed the window before my brain realised what my eyes had seen (at 7:15 AM I'm not very much awake). Stil saw the +200m on money pouch appear to confirm I was actually awake.

Either way, I have 200 million to spend on supplies again, so happy happy me. Whether others are envious or think I'm trolling doesn't really affect my gp stack.

  5. Any ideas on the player with the highest xp/hr over 1bxp?

I have no clue here. For some of the old time players, averages will be lower. Heck, I think my past 80 days of game time exceed the 450+ days before it in exp...

  6. Alright, given we are this far offtopic, let me make another 'suggestion'. Cap the exp from any given training method at 50 million exp. (arbitrary value, could be higher or lower based on the methods used to train a skill).

    For magic:

Set alching/surging/barraging/teleporting/.. each with a 50m exp cap. Huzzah, more variation in training.

    For agility:

50m max exp per course, 50m limit on FPF, ..

Smithing could get mixed up between superheating gold, artisans workshop, regular smithing, ..

    Mining:

    LRC / normal rocks / essence / ...

    Cooking:

    Fish / Meat / Pies / Drinks.

    Fishing:

    C2/flyfish/leaping fish/rocktails/..

    etc etc.

Would make 200m's far more interesting to reach (also: harder, thus even more of an achievement).

    Key problems:

-Does implementing it now give the ones that got 200m sooner an unfair edge?

    - Negative impact on player savefile size.

  7. Reducing the number of worlds would make a number of skills nearly impossible train.

If they don't reduce the number of worlds, they might need to tweak the spawn rates for monsters / ores / whatever on less populated worlds though, as not doing this is hurting other skills too.

  8. Recently on my alt account I've been buying rune platelegs, rune longswords and rune 2handers for about 500- 700gp below the alch value. Thing is - you need some cash to do that, and supply is limited due to the items having a 100 per 4 hours buy limit. But there's several items worth looking into.

  9. Actually, the old you just made the post seem longer by having half of it as white lines...

That said, reading back some of this (including about my history as the RSC forum mod for Tip.it :o), what strikes me most is that you can actually notice how most of us have 'matured'. Most of us were teenagers or in the young 20's in early RSC. Some of the ADD-driven kids from back then I've seen grow into more sensible adult people. I like to think of myself as one of the grownups now.

As far as the nostalgia bit goes:it seems to stretch into two patterns:

    - I loved the simplicity of the game back then, more straightforward, harder to achieve things - but it lead to a smaller 'top' section of players. The smaller top meant more widespread fame, and 'knowing' most of the top back then, leads to feeling your 'old self' more important then your 'current self', as far as character goes. Grabbing on to past fame and successes over remaining sensible is something to watch out for - I mean, look at Madonna these days.

    - The opportunity to lash out with a childish comment at an old time enemy - regardless of whether it makes sense or not.

For me personally, I look back at this past for more then 'the game' in itself. First of all, it has largely extended my english vocabulary. It got me into coding a clan website (basic html skills), I read up on PHP to code my own calculators for ARENAscape, I've learned what to say and what NOT to say, learned to plan things ahead ('efficiency'), learned to relativate losses, ...

  10. Guess who screwed up and made two superior seasinger tops? ::flips a table:: Can't even alch the extra to try to get something back from it. >_<

Just quietly, if you die in the wildy with it it drops as a large amount of money. Or at least it used to, I think they may have patched it.

    They did, surprisingly fast even.

  11. And to a minor extent: Why no bones or ashes?

They do drop remains, that's what the shards and fragments are. They are like kalphites where instead of offering a 100% pray xp drop, they give you something you can sell. It is weird that the Ascension Fragments are untradable though.

Yea - I felt more of the 'no bones' as a way to block the bonecrusher-to-soulsplit path. Hence it being a minor concern.

The no charms thing does stink though.

  12. My input:

Well, it's a neat bit of GP after introduction. Last night 2.5 hours got me 9 key drops, which lead to 9.5m gp added to my bank.

As for exp: Bit disappointed there, expected higher rates given the requirements.

The shielded guys might be neat exp, but they are pretty much 'co-op only' due to having to hit them in the back.

As for drops: With key value high atm, it's not bad. That will eventually disappear. Adam plates and adam limbs / uncharged orbs / bowstrings.. meh. Even the left shield half I got is pretty lame these days.

I fail to see the thing with fragments and shards: why is one tradable and the other not?

What bothers me most: WHY NO CHARM DROPS?

And to a minor extent: Why no bones or ashes?

  13. Doesn't Adventurer's log keep track of like 50 things?

Apparently, it doesn't, more like 10. (and some xp milestones got in there too).

So far im at 11 effigies in 11m defence exp.

click the rss feed button in the top left to see all 50

Doesn't show - I'll assume because it's set to private.

  14. Yesterday morning it felt like effigyscape was back. I got 8 effigies in under 5 hours.

The rest of the day: 0 effigies.

    Probably just got insanely lucky.

Can't make pics for proof - due to exp milestones only 6 of them still in my alog.

  15. Hmm, I do like this idea (maybe its because you used magic cape as example), but I do feel like:

    - If it's just a cosmetic change, very few people will actually care about the capes

    - If it's a statwise difference it is a huge amount of grinding to get it.

So far magic is the only skill for which I put up with the grind to 200m, yet Id probably not wear it over my max cape (for stat reasons - crit bonus).
