  1. When loading RuneScape (all worlds), I receive the following error: I tried disabling my Windows XP SP2 firewall - didn't work. I can't find any other firewalls (information on how to would be helpful). I tried opening port # 43594 on my Windows XP SP2 firewall - didn't work. I was playing normally only an hour ago, and this problem suddenly occured. Any ideas on how I can solve this problem?
  2. I'm F2P. Mine is 13.9259259259259... which rounds to 14. ^^ Guess I should keep using the method I've been using. :P
  3. I based the prayer goal on the bones I will be burying from combat kills. ^^ I'll probably raise it higher anyways.
  4. edit; ROFL I missed it :( Congratulations on this fine accomplishment. ^^
  5. I recently just started training combat on St_Vars, and think that with a higher combat, I will be able to put my skills to better use, or maybe go to more secluded areas to train them - and be able to defend myself. Current Goals: SKILL / BEGINNING / CURRENT / GOAL (ignore total suckyness lol) ATTACK / 17 / 20 / 40 STRENGTH / 10 / 20 / 50 DEFENSE / 20 / 20 /40 RANGED / 24 / 30 MAGIC / 28 / 30 HITPOINTS / 25 / 27 / ?? PRAYER / 20 / 30 or higher I will write about my experiences when I meet a portion of or complete my goal. I know these seem like low goals - they are. When I reach them, I will continue to keep aiming higher, until this account is as strong as my old one (which I clumsily lost the password to :-$) If you have any training tips, please, do tell. ^^
  6. At first I didn't think people would like the level thing, but I left it in. The whole story doesn't revolve around what happens in the first chapter. :P Thanks for the advice though - I'll try to steer clear of it in future stories.
  7. I had 40 mining, 30 smithing, 40 woodcutting and 50 firemaking at levels three and four. Nobody accused me of being an auto, and I wasn't. The only problems I encountered were random event monsters, but I usually ran. It is fun to show off you rune hatchet and rune pickaxe as a level three, lol. ^^
  8. This is my first RS related story, and I just finished the first chapter. EDIT: I noticed that a few posts have character guides, so I will make my own, I guess. Smitley - The main character. A level 76 melee swordsman. A member of the Crophix clan. Vensula - The main character's best friend. A level 82 ranger. A team leader of the Crophix clan. The other characters will be added as they appear. - THE QUEST CONTINUED Chapter One Smitley was strolling through the Draynor Forest on his way to the Barbarian Village. He took note of the beautiful surroundings; flowers planted in random clumps, varying in colors, size and fragrance. He slowed down to a faint walk while passing the Draynor Manor. Smitley himself had never been in there, despite him being much stronger than the other adventurers who went in. It wasn't because of the monsters in the house, it was because he simply didn't find any meaning to it. This day was different, however. He was feeling brave, and the mansion seemed to be crowded enough to have someone assist him if he were to be attacked. He greatly overestimates the group's compassion. As he stepped into the dark entryway, there was a cluster of people, ranging from level 30 to level 40. They seemed frightened. "What's going on?" Smitley asked. "We were watching someone fight the vampire for the quest," someone began to explain, "but the vampire somehow beat him, even the guys combat was almost 50." "That's bull crap," Smitley chuckled, "any level 50 should be able to whoop that dude." "I know!" another man said, "but it turned out that it was the vampire who won, not the man." "I guess I have to take a look?" Smitley asked, agrivated. He needed to get to the Barbarian Village to meet up with his friend Vensula. He hoped that this would not take more than a few minutes. He messaged Vensula telling him what was going on, and Versula said he would wait for a few more minutes. Smitley approached the stairway. He felt a chill go down his spine. What if they weren't joking. What if there is a programming error with the vampire, making it stronger than usual? He tried to confirm himself that Jagex tech staff would have already fixed the problem, but there was a small amount of fear. He stepped on the first step, and an image of Vensula came to mind. He tried to focus on taking his next steps. By the fifth step down, he was starting to break a sweat. He received a message from Vensula. "Dude, where are you?" Vensula asked "In the Draynor Manor. These people are saying that the vampire has a glitch," Smitley replied. "Oh really? Why didn't you tell me. I wanna come watch you get owned, lol." Smitley stepped off the last step, finally putting his feet down on the basement floor. The chills were beginning to come down his spine every few minutes now, and he was certainly sweating. Why should I be afraid? he said to himself. It's just a game. Smitley took a step torwards the coffin, and began to lift the lid. He could hear the gasps of the people watching safety above him. The vampire twirled out of the coffin, and stared at Smitley. He now knew something was wrong - the vampire usually started attacking whoever opened the coffin. "....He...llo.... Mr... Smitley.." the vampire said faintly. "..Hello?" Smitley asked, confused. He did not have an Amulet of Ghostspeak on. How could he understand the vampire? The chills began coming through him faster than before, and he was beginning to breathe very fast. "I request...a favor," the vampire hissed. "What do you ask of me?" Smitley asked. He then messaged Vensula to see where he was. He was watching from the first floor with the others. "Come with me," the vampire suddenly said with a firm voice. Smitley could feel something pulling on him. Vensula shoved people aside and jumped the whole staircase. "What the hell!?" Vensula shouted. "GO!" the vampire shouted. Vensula flew back against the basement wall, which knocked him unconscious. That was Smitley's last sight - his friend being tossed like a rag doll. Being defeated with one simple blow. Smitley could feel his body begin to change. He looked down at his legs, and noticed that they were turning into a gas-like mist. More and more of his body began to evaporate into the air, until it reached his neck. Smitley didn't know if this were the end, or the beginning. It was in fact the beginning of a chain of events that would lead to one of the most famous glitches in RuneScape history. His head began to evaporate. His whole body was now a shroud of clouds. The vampire pulled out a capsule, and opened it. The mist that was formerally Smitley's body, flew right into the capsule. The vampire then grabbed the coffin with his open hand, and shoved it aside. Beneath it was a large opening. Another, much darker, staircase. The vampire walked down the flight of steps slowly, and then, with a wave of his hand, the opening closed, as if it were never there. The people watching from the first floor were speechless.
  9. Congratulations on your current achievements and good luck with those left to complete. :)
  10. Hiya. I'm Jackson, or St_Vars. I've been playing RuneScape for about three years, but St_Vars is a new account. I've been playing on and off, while maintaining a blog, http://www.vita.uni.cc. My main long-term goal for RuneScape is to become a more well-known F2P player, but I've got other stuff to do in real life, so it may not happen. wish me luck though, lol. I'm starting to get back into RuneScape, so I thought I would join, lol. edit: something that makes me look cool: I am a member of Teenangels, a group of teenagers who travel, and help kids understand why they need to stay safe online, lol. The group is managed by Parra Aftab, a cyberlawyer for RuneScape, and other gaming communities such as XBOX Live, MySpace, Xanga, etc.
  11. You must have had a lot of luck, lol. Care to share it? :-w
