  1. I've only heard a couple of their songs, but I thought "Ok Time For Plan B" was really good. I'd rather only compare the very worst to Brokencyde though.

Honestly, comparing Enter Shikari to Brokencyde is like comparing T-pain to Eminem or the Wu Tang clan or something of the likes.

  2. I bought their first album, forgot what it was called though.

Certainly wouldn't call it unoriginal - i thought it was pretty fresh and exciting compared to a lot of the new bands that were emerging at the time.

I can't really think of any other similar bands, apart from Hadouken.

Songs like No Sweat, Anythign can happen and Jonny Sniper were my favs, still cant remember the album name though and cba to google.

Haven't really checked out their newer stuff - how has it developed?

The electronic side was interesting, but out of place a lot of the time and some bits were just annoying.

A few of my friends like them and say they are amazing live

First album was called "Take To The Skies"

Their newer stuff is definitely different. The band definitely broadened their musical talent. They lost a lot of the screamed vocals (there are still a few throughout the album, however), but they make up for it. The electronics are far superior to take to the skies and they do some pretty crazy electronic riffs. The lyrics and vocals are a lot more mature and the singer (Rou) still shows as much heart as ever. For softer songs I'd reccomend "Gap in the fence", "hectic", "wall", or "fanfare" and for the harder and faster stuff check out "zzzonked" "Antwerpen" "havoc B" "Step up" "Juggernauts" and "solidarity".

My favorites on the album are probably zzzonked, solidarity, and antwerpen, but all the songs are great.

  3. Very original movie plot.

I was thinking the same, never seen anything like it (I suppose the matrix is the closest thing...), which is a rarity in movies these days

  4.

    [spoiler=question]

Did the time thing make sense? The way I thought they explained it was it would take a total of 10 years for them to plant the seed? They only spent 1-2 days top in the dream. And thats a huge stretch.

    To answer Saru's question:

The time thing did make sense. The 10 years thing was just theoretically how much time they would have in a sub-level if they had X amount of time in one sub-level above. The reason the inception was short was because everything didn't go as they planned. They didn't expect his first level of subconscious to be trained to attack invaders, so they had to improvise. The amount of time they would spend in each sub-level depended on how long it took for the kick in the higher sub-level to take them out of it. So when in the FIRST sub-level they started to get attacked, the driver had to drive the van off the bridge earlier than planned, which limited the time they had in the dreams within dreams within dreams, etc. However, each deeper sub level had a longer time frame while the van was falling, which was a really awesome scene sequence.

I understand the movie pretty well but this is extremely hard to explain through the internet haha...sorry

  5. ^^ not really.

But I think its safe to say this topic got shut down ROFL.

But I hate them, they're not originial.

Explain to me how they're not original and I might take your post into consideration.

Explain to me how they *are*

The whole idea is just unoriginal. I can't really post what exactly, because it all is. And the melodies and such are just boring, and overused.

edit: they remind me of brokencyde. Thats what it was.

BROKENCYDE?!?! good god you have got to be kidding me. You are obviously unaware of enter shikari's style if you compare them to that [cabbage]. Maybe if you actually listen to the lyrics of enter shikari (I don't know about you, but lyrics matter in my musical tastes), or perhaps listen to how much more musical talent enter shikari has, you would take that statement back. Enter shikari *is* original because they have mastered the blending of post-hardcore, electronic, dubstep, and alternative rock and combined it in a way that no other band has done. Their songs naturally flow and their lyrics are well thought-out. On top of this, they can actually play their music live and bring more energy to their shows than any of the other 30+ bands I've seen in my lifetime. I honestly think if you listened to them WITH AN OPEN MIND (perhaps their newer stuff would suite you better), you would become a fan.

Honestly, you're a precocious elitist who is really getting on my nerves. I simply made a comparison that I find to be quite accurate. You went off the deep end essentially calling me a preppy ignorant unintelligent musically deprived socially inept cretin. Because I didn't like a band. Does that make sense to you? Don't take your damn music so personally. I'm gonna take a gander and say you hate all of my bands. Some of them are really great, does that make you an idiot? Nope. Just means you have different musical tastes. And I honestly think I can say I have one of the most open minds on the forums, this may be disguised by my perpetual trolling but still. Don't make character assassinations if you don't know me. =\ Also, lyrics aren't everything. I mean, they are to me, but that doesn't define intelligence like you insinuate it to. In fact, it has nothing to do with intelligence, Albert Einsteins favorite song may just be Got Money by T-Pain, does that make him an idiot? You decide.

also, they sound like brokencyde. they really do. =\

First of all, you asked me to explain how they are original, so that's what I was going off about. Second of all, I wasn't calling you an idiot for not liking enter shikari, I WAS calling you an idiot because you deem them unoriginal and similar to brokencyde (honestly, brokencyde is a wanna be hip-hop screamo crunk-core talentless band. Enter shikari is nothing like them at all). So...You asked me to explain how they are original, and I did. I have yet to hear how they are not original.

  6. They're my favourite band <3.

Saw them last year at the Apollo in Hammersmith. Tiny little venue, and the whole thing was nuts. The energy in that little room was incredible.

    They are amazing live.

finally someone who agrees. I live in the U.S. and saw them at warped but I'm doing a semester abroad in colchester next spring so hopefully they tour England a bit then.

  9. I don't know how you could possibly say these guys suck live. Even if you dislike their genre of music (which seems to be the case with alot of you), you have to respect the passion, energy and quality they put into their performances. They blew me away when I saw them, it was amazing.

  10. EDIT: NEW SONG DESTABALISE RELEASED OCTOBER 25 2010:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PSjaM9E2gr4

This song is incredible, can't wait to see what they come up with on their next album!

So, I'm wondering how many of you are big fans of Enter Shikari like I am?

They are a British Post hardcore/Electronic band that has released 2 full length LP's so far. After seeing them live, I would have to say they are my overall favorite band out there. They are upbeat, incredibly original (no one sounds close to them on their second LP "Common Dreads"), intelligent people, great musicians and songwriters, and they are known for playing mind blowing live shows (they did not let me down). They are not necessarily in the main stream, but through their epic live shows and solid albums they have gathered many devoted fans, and I believe they are pretty huge in the UK right now (I'm from America).

here's one of their older-style songs

And here's one of their newer style songs

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gs2Hj41J41Q

Anyways, let me know what you think of them, if you're a fan of them, what songs of theirs you like/dislike. All I have to say is that if you EVER get a chance to see them live, eve if it's an inconvenience...DO IT! They are incredible live.

  11. If the greatest amount of floors that you can do is 25 (and your Prestige is currently at 24), then you want to complete floors 1-25 (you don't have to go in order). Once you complete floors 1-25, your Prestige will be 25 instead of 24. Then you reset your ring and keep gaining Dung exp. until you can unlock and access the 26th floor, and then you want to work on 1-26 so you can get 26 prestige.

When you say "prestige will be 25 instead of 24" is that where it says what your "previous progress" is?

Like my current previous progress is 2 because i only did 2 floors in a row before i reset?

  12. So I am very confused on how to keep my presteige up in dungeoneering...

I understand that when i can't advance to a further floor i should reset...but then do I go back to floor 1 or the highest floor i can do??

I recently reset from floor 16 and went to floor 1...

Is that what I'm supposed to do? that doesn't seem right cause I'm hardly gaining any xp now even with getting presteige points...

    need some help with this!

  13. So, today I started a floor 4 complexity 6 dungeon with a party of 5 people (didnt know them), and after about 45 minutes we got to the boss, with only 3 of us remaining. With full food and armour, we wen't in to fight the level 575 boss (it was that [bleep]er that heals by eating the dead animals??)...Anyways, we couldnt kill it before it killed us and it kept re-healing. After one try one of the other players bailed and it was left to me (cb level 133 and a level 110). We restocked on food, armour, and i had my level 93 familiar out, went in, and could barely get it to half health before we both died and it re-healed. Our only option was to quit the dungeon...and I ended up getting about 60xp for an hour and a halfs work.

This seems like complete horse [cabbage] to me...if people leave the party then how the F are you supposed to kill the bosses that are meant for FIVE people with only two...

Is there a way to fix this issue that i just don't know about??

I was pretty fed up about it

Only thing I can say is don't do 5 man teams, after about 3 man teams the bosses get ridiculous and just isn't worth doing.

i thought you could stand between the boss and the dead bodies so it can't heal

Try blocking that fatass from his lunch when he's hitting constant 300+ on you.

If you are standing in front of the food the monster just rotates between attacking you and the other player.

    The monster can't eat.

You don't have to move to attack him.

If there were only one player it's impossible with two its difficult but possible. Easier with five of course.

I've gotten 1-13 dung all solo. (yeh, I'm only lvl 13. I've worked 18 hr work days all week. anyways:)

there's one one pile of food, so I can block it and kill the dude easily./

This is a fun skill... but something about it really aggravates me. I guess it'd be the rewards... I wish they were not rly more broad, but there were different ways of getting them.

What you guys don't realize it was me and a level 110 duoing a level 575 that was meant for 5 people. We would both block the 2 piles of food but one of us would die before we killed it and the thing would eat the open pile of food before the dead man could run back. It was [developmentally delayed]ed.

They should adjust the boss or level if players leave the party...

  15. monks are definately the way to go with fishing, got both stones after 12 monks, mining was very quick doing gold, fletching and fming just took a few invens of willow logs, allotments help a ton to get the farming stones, wcing was not too bad on ivy

still have my 2nd cooking stone left to get (its taking me a while...), hunter, crafting, rcing, and herblore...any advice?

  16. is it just me...or is everyone kind of overreacting over this HP update.

There really is no difference except that everything is multiplied by 10... The only difference I can see in this is that you can maybe now hit or heal in between the previous combat values.

For example previously you could hit say either a 14 or a 15. Now maybe we can hit a 14.5 which would be a 145.

So the precision of the hp system has been increased and instead of using decimals they just multiplied everything by 10...Other than that, everything is pretty much the same? (in regards to the hp update)

  17. OMG DUDE!!! [bleep]ing nice job!!

    I can't beleive u got a visage i didnt know that!! congrats!
