  3. thanks for all the replies, im not gonan be hardcore gaming on it or anything.having said that i cant really say because my current pc sucks more than my hoover at this moment in time and it crashes if i bring a new pc game past it in the case. Anyway i have a fair idea of what im gonna get, but i dont actualy have a budget at this moment in time (not my money u see  ) i will post the processor etc below and u can tell me what you think. Bear in mind this is for nothing too demanding a few games ( im not fussed about top notch graphics turned up full blast or anything ) some internet. Intel̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî Pentium̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî D 820 Dual Core Processor (2.80GHz, 800MHz, 2x1MB cache) OR Intel̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî Pentium̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî D 930 Dual Core Processor (3.00GHz, 800MHz, 2x2MB cache) 1024MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [2x512] OR 2048MB Dual Channel DDR2 533MHz [4x512] And ofcourse their is the graphix card. which it just so happens i knwo nothing about, so maybe one of you could tell me if this would be any good for some basic gaming on low graphix settings 256MB ATI Radeon̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâî X600 HyperMemory graphics card
  4. Well in the next few weeks i shall be getting my hands on a nice new computer but i cant decide on 1Gb or 2Gb of ram sure 1Gb will be ine for now, but how long for? Is it worth the extra cash now for the 2Gb or just upgrade at a later date?
  5. great, thanks for that, i suspected it was to do with that and was almost abotu to tell him to try that but was too afraid it would totaly mess up his internet. anyway thanks alot.
  6. well my dad is working away from home and just took his laptop away with him. Untill now he has been talking to us over skype with other peoples laptops, now he has his one over their he can talk with us over skype but internet explorer wont connect to any web pages, it keeps asking him to dial up. My question being, how can skype work, but internet explorer not?! im geussing its to do ith the settings witch i think i could maybe play about with if i was actualy their to do it, but i dont want to tell him to do anything unless im fairly sure it will work because ihe isnt to hot on computers. It has windows xp installed and he wants to connect to the internet with internet explorer (i.e. dont bother bashing me about using explorer because it wont make any differance) Thanks in advance.
  7. great, that has helped alot. im not sure i can really build my own though. Their would probably be alot fo fried electronics after i turned it on for the first time. I will go buy my a nice pc with the capability to expand it in the future.
  8. yes i realise that integrated graphics are close to useless, but i should have explained that i really dont intend playing anything more demanding than runescape right now, and was just wondering if it was easy enough to just buy and slot that card right into the computer. So you would say its better to just buy the pc with the card already installed and get it over with
  9. Been saving up for a new computer for a while now and started looking at various pc's. I have been looking at computers with intel processors for a long time, but now i have started noticing amd alot more. I am looking to buy a cheep(ish) pc that i can keep for a good while and add to it as and when i need to. but i have a few questions as i am not the hottest on computers. If i buy a pc with integrated graphix and wish to upgrade it to an actual graphix card in teh future, would i just be able to slot it in and go for it. The AMD64 bit processors are able to run the next version of windows but seem to ramp up in price for anything over 2Ghz would 2Ghz be fine fro any length of time or is it betetr to just pay the money now and save buying a new pc.
  10. well i was in Tesco and seen a pc for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã600. it seemed like a good deal but it did have a printer and now that it is a 2Ghz processor im not even gonna give it a 2nd look
  11. what is the processor speed of an amd athalon 3200+ i am used to looking at intels and they just give u the nice 3.0 Ghz or whatever beside it. ----------------------- k i looked about a bit and found it, and i think its 2Ghz am i correct?

  15. i have just passed my test. and will be driving in 2 days. i know what i hate the most about driving from my lessons and that is people at roundabouts who for some unknown reason dont signal at any time. but i suppose once i get used to it and mor experiance i will find it easier to predict what they are going to do
